Do you ever have to remind yourself that things could be worse?

Or that there are other people who are going through much tougher times. I have had to try and do this for the last few days. I was in a car accident over the weekend and it just seems as everything is piling up. We still have to finish our taxes as well as take care of everything concerning our van. We are planning on having it towed to a scrap yard, getting a uhaul taking my husband's equipment from the van to his grandmothers to store it, and paying the cost of keeping it in the impound to we can get it out.
As you can imagine that all adds up pretty quickly. So the savings I had going is about to be wiped out and I will have to start all over again. That is why I know I have to reach my goal of the savings I want to just be sitting in the bank. Because during times like this we will still have some left over if we have a great savings going.
My husband never says and he didn't want put full coverage on the van so this is definitely a lesson learned. To save as much as I can and that it is better to have full coverage instead of trying to keep forty extra dollars. Oh and to always double check for other vehicles.

Yes, I do that a lot. i remind myself that line over and over and often it makes me feel better afterwards. Thinking that what is happening to us is the worst, will only depress us and not help us at all. It's important to be positive at difficult times so that later on something positive will eventually happen and we'd get there no prob.

Yes I agree with you. Thinking way too much about the negative things we are going through will only make matters worse. So I'm trying to look at making it through this situation and soon hopefully things will calm down. Being under a lot of stress isn't good. But we have to remember that hard times do come to an end as well.

Right! If we let ourselves be caught by all the negative things and begin to believe that the bad things won't end, that will make us insane.

After getting crazy over an issue, I do try to force myself to look at the brighter things in life. I may not be in a great financial status but I our lives are a lot better than others for sure.

Yes I understand what you mean. I try to think about things like that as well. We are going through some rough times right now with some new bills we have to take care of that were unexpected. So I hope that we will be able to get things taken care of quickly and move forward.

All the time Dominique...I am sorry about your accident but I
hope all is well from it...no one got hurt...But its always a
wake up call when we can think about our blessings instead of
all the things that has gone wrong...As we think about our issues
we can always know that someone somewhere is doing so much worst
than we are doing...
I have a 2000 Toyota but I still have full coverage on it because
I know that as soon that I cancel full coverage I will need
it for sure....

Yes I know exactly what you mean. We usually have full coverage on all our vehicles. But my husband went to the office for the van ( I should have went with him :)). And he thought he could save an extra thirty books by just getting on liability. But now he wishes he would have had full coverage. I'm sure this happens a lot for individuals who have only liability. From now on all of our vehicles will have full coverage. We just never know what might happen. Thankfully we are all alright.
