What Do I Need to Be Ready to Do?

My goal in life is 'to be ready.' What must I get ready for (evidently, not 'because a buncha Bible-beaters mindlessly parrot the shared delusion of impending armeggedon')?

Yes, as would any number of things that probably aren't going to happen either

I'm one of "those".. as I see Western Civilization spiraling into something totally different which is exactly what was prophesied. But I don't see total collapse of the (prophesied to go) global system as imminent, but would like to pass on the clear signs which are given, so those present when it is imminent will know them and the time table. However, I'm not sure any one listens. But hopefully my own grand kids will remember. I think it's not very wise nor deep thinking to dismiss things out of hand. For instance, how many Bible prophecies given, say of Christ, and of ancient nations, have occurred as written? Such as the stones of Tyre being thrown into the sea? Told when it was a thriving metropolis, I'm sure they scoffed too. But there are the stones, in the sea to this day. The spirit of "scoffers" is also prophesied. And most scoffers simply rely on what they are told about the book without reading it for their selves (when the New Testament, which is the writings for our day) is such a very slim volume! And most of them think the Bible was written by a bunch of old men at one time, all sitting around a table! Instead of written by many over the centuries.) Do you really think man is so wise his empires can last forever? And collapse is laughable? There's really only two cultures or nations which are from ancient days still intact, and those two were prophesied to be so. my blog where I post my indepth studies of Bible prophecy: http://inner-monastery.blogspot.com

P.S. - ...would like to pass on the clear signs so the few days can be avoided, which is what the Bible advises..

As a non Believer and a happy heretic I say a clear conscience and no regrets. If you seized each day the best way you could, then you really lived!

But when you're resting-in-peace, your mind starts wandering far enough to see the whole big picture ... to see that--though you're only a tiny part of it--you could very-well have destroyed the whole thing with one wrong choice. To get rid of that regret-possibility, you have to believe you were following the orders given by the Owner of the whole thing---and that--if you destroyed it--it was the Owner's wish that it BE destroyed.

to be ready is to set your mind that you truly are. there are conditions on which you can measure up yourself. for example, what is your disposition? do you believe that you have the tools and skills to go at it (whatever it is)? or you need to develop certain skills and disposition to be ready for it. how about the social support? do you need some support from others? then, only you can answer the question whether you are ready or not.
