Yes Kareem Adbul-Jabbar wants to coach! He was hoping to at UCLA but it didn't happen. Kareem has shown interest in coaching the Milwaukee Bucks who right now have an interim coach since they fired Scott Skiles. Don't know if he even has been considered for the job and if he would fit the Bucks! When he was traded to the Lakers in 1975 he left on a bad note Kareem, thrashed Wiscosnin and Milwaukee by saying how awful both were!! So that could be a reason the Bucks might not even consider him!Kareem has coached in the USBL,high school and was a special assistent under Phil Jackson. He really would like to get a chance at the collge and pro level! I don't know if it will ever happen. First off kareem has not had alot of experince coaching. That is his biggest set back. Age could be other factor. He will be 66 in 2 weeks. I also think another resaon Kareem has not been considered for coaching jobs because of his personality. He can be very aloof at times and complained about things, involving basketball,he should of kept to himself. So he is in a perdictament. I think some college should give him a change but at an assistant level first. He needs to start not at the top but I don't think Kareem wants or thinks it should be that way! So we'll see! I hope he gets a chance somewhere!

I think someone needs to give Kareem a chance to see if he can coach or not. I have no idea if Kareem really can or not. At least not at the level Kareem wants to coach at! We will see.

I remember hearing that Kareem had burned a lot of bridges, though I don't remember the details. But with his experience, I think somebody should give him a chance, even if only, as you say, at a junior level.

Kareem has burned alot of bridges over the years! I need to look into that again because there was alot of things! Kareem is a very intelligent person and I think that has made him arrogant when it comes to him wanting to coach! He really wants to start at the college or NBA level! Like you said he needs to start, must likely,at the junior levl,if given the chance.

Kareem is going to be 66 in two weeks? My goodness. Maybe the colleges know his age and think he is too old. Could that be part of it? He is getting up there.

Ya, we don't want coaches like that one that recently was fired. Not all are patient and able to coach.

Kareem sure doesn't look that old! I am still can't believe he is getting that old! I think that has something to do with him not getting the chance to coach. The other reason is some great basketball players don't make good coaches. Then Kareem wants to go an start in the NBA or college! He is aiming way to high! So we will see what happens!

Great basketball players don't necessarily make great coaches. Honestly I'd be reluctant to take a chance on him at a high level. If you bring him into an NBA head coaching position or a major NCAA program and he doesn't do well right away, you're going to look stupid. I think the Raptors will be looking for a new coach after the season. I wouldn't even take a chance on him in Toronto to be honest.

You are right. Some great players don't make good coaches. Isiah Thomaz is a good example! Anyway it would not be good idea to bring Kareem inn th to be a head coach ie NBA or in college. I think Kareem has gottan arrogant about this! He really wants to do it at a high level! He would be better trying at a lower level then he wanting to coach athigh level. Knowing Kareem if even given the change,he might not want it. We will see!
