American Idol ratings have been on a free fall this season and bloggers seem to be rushing to the rescue of Nikki Mirage. Nikki is the sole reason Idol has fallen off it's perch and Idol producers should cut their losses and fire her mid season. She is disruptive, knows nothing about music and singing and is always seeking ways to bring attention to herself. Her "critiques" are long, rambling and totally meaningless. She continually insults a music industry icon Jimmy Ivene and frankly I am surprised he hasn't called her on it. American Idol; Do You Want To Survive??? Cut the cancer from your show and get rid of Nikki Mirage.

I used to be an avid fan of American Idol, hardly missing any of the shows including the replays because I loved the chemistry among the judges, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson. Nowadays, I hardly watch Idol not because of Nikki. I simply find it uninteresting without the previous magic.

I think Nikki just plays it safe much of the time, saying only nice things about the singers. The judges lack someone like Simon whose criticisms were honest although at times brutal. However, that's how they get top ratings.

aside from Nikki who had been annoying by far, the 5 years in a row "white guy with guitar" winner trend in the last also hurts the show. It alienated adult and male audience because Teenage girls keeps on voting for their "Prince charming" The show became prdictable because the same person kept on winning. Then the last few winners ends up as either one hit wonders,no hit wonders and sophomore slumps.
Anyway all TV shows dropped ratings because there are more Tv networks now, giving the audience a more diverse choice.
around the early 2000's a show with 9 million audience is considered a flop, now its considered a hit.
I think Idol needs to have " allstar season" bring back the familiar and memorable contestants who didnt win and give the a second chance to win idol. It will bring back some of the alienated fan base.
Idol is the only decade old reality show that didnt have an allstar season.

I quit watching it (I only watched one season, last season when that talentless Flip Flip won) because they don't do anything but sing and blah blah blah. Deandre (sp) was from San Jose, CA and we saw him once while out and about, other than that I don't care for the show. I can't stand Nikki "Mirage" as you call her, she is a worthless waste of skin, she knows nothing, says even less and should be judging a nasty foot competition. I will never watch American Idiot again, I'll just wait for the people who get voted off to make better music than the dolts who win.

I have not seen the show this season, but someone special to me said they feel the same way about her. They are not a fan of hers either...Makes me curious enough to want to see what all of the talk is about!

I think american idol has , also fallen because of the changes in the way the show is. I want it back to the old way. The way we votes, the way people were kicked off. its all wrong this season.
