Deuteronomy Chapter 18 verses 18
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like
unto thee, and will put my words
in his mouth; and he shall speak
unto them all that I shall
command him.
Christians and Muslims claims differently about the prophecy.
Christians claims it for Jesus, while Muslims claims it for Muhammad.
If that prophecy was for Jesus, why Christians get mad when Muslims considered or said that Jesus was a prophet?
Christian considered Jesus as the father, the son and the holy spirit (TRINITY). Mean that prophecy wasn't for Jesus.
Cause the prophecy was about the coming of a prophet, not a God.
Isn't that as simple as that?

You're concerned about Christians getting mad while thousands of Muslims around the world rape, pillage, burn churches? You think that is ok?
In regard to Christ being the prophet, consider Acts 3...22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.
25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
A prophet is one who speaks the will of God, which Christ certainly did.

How about these verses?
Mark 10:17-19 And as he was setting out on a journey, a man
ran up to him and knelt before
him, and began asking him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"18 And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good
except God alone.” 19 You know the commandments, 'Do not
murder, Do not commit adultery,
Do not steal, Do not bear false
witness, Do not defraud, Honor
your father and mother.'"

Hello Wapewe, actually you must have been confused about the characteristic of Christ. He is the Son of God (John 3:16), He is not God the Father and He is not also the Holy Spirit. The trinity talks about One God but in three persons, the deity of the given above has different functions but I won't be talking about that since your topic is more about the Prophecy of the coming God.
The verse Deut. 18:18, in a christian perspective talks about Jesus Christ. John 1:21 speaks about that if you read. Where did you get that idea that Christians get mad? for what reason? People have different opinions so we just need to respect it.
If Muslims believe that Christ is a prophet, that's because of their book Quran right? Anyway, no need to see who is right or wrong here. The bottom line is that Christians will stand for Christ and Muslims will stand for Muhammad. We cannot mixed that but the verse talks about a coming God. Luke 24:19 tells about people talking about a prophet. There are many supporting verses for this one but let's hear it from other mylotters too, this is what I can share for now. Have a nice day.

Maybe you didn't get mad with that title, a prophet.
But there are so many others in out there who get mad.
One in three person, more like a team for me.
Which one who the captain among them?
All I know is, there is no word God in that verse. But prophet!!
So to whom that prophecy?

Wapewe: I with Strawberry on this. It just depends on whether you are a Christian or Muslim. There will be many people saved who have never heard of such differences.
I think our main focus should be on loving God and thy neighbor as ourself. If you are a Christian you will believe that Christ came to die for us and give us the opportunity to be saved through his blood. The Muslims do not believe this as I understand. I think it is good to understand what different religions believe especially if you are going to discuss religion with them. IT would be hard to learn about all the religions as I heard a speaker say the other day that there were 36,000 different religions. We have to ask God to lead us to the truth. IT is hard to accept another religion than what we were brought up in but we need to follow God's leading if we want to live with Him. As far as the record goes, I do believe in 3 Gods, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus told his disciples that he wished they were one as he and his father were one.
