how do you make money through adsense?

Guys I know most of you are bloggers and webhosts or anything around the internet and adsense is a sure way of earning passively. I find it hard. My blog is 1 year already and I am not earning much. I don't know how to make money through adsense I hope you will share some ideas and information on how to really make it in adsense. thanks.
