As I See It # 80
Anger is a vital life force. When used artistically or nondestructively it has the power to move worlds.
Stop and think about that. I am not talking about the reactions of people when something enrages or annoys them, I am talking about what happens when people are angry enough to do something about a situation. If someone hadn't been angry with the lack of education for blind children in 1872, the W. Ross McDonald School for the Blind would not have been opened in Brantford Ontario. If mothers and other folks were not annoyed with the behaviour or drunken idiots behind the wheel, there'd be no Mother's Against Drunk Driving (MADD). If women were not angry enough to make a change, we still wouldn't have the vote, and if someone hadn't thought long and hard about the equality of all human beings regardless of colour, there'd still be slavery in North America.
Anger can be a great tool to create change, as long as the person feeling that anger knows how to keep their emotions in check. Your thoughts?

I have to agree with this discussion. That is very very true. I see it as using anger in a positive way. And yes, anger is very powerful. We have moved forward as people using this technique. Otherwise we would still be in the stone age.

I think you are right for many reasons....for pointing out that using that anger in controlled situations can create something valuable! Anger if used in the wrong way can distroy worlds! Anger management is a wonderful thing....more people need to be aware of how to use it in a useful manner!

This is some interesting thoughts. It is very true that in life if we just sit and wait for something to happen it may never happen, but if we take time to find what we are looking for and pursue that goal and dream no matter what it takes, then things will happen and we will be able to trigger our anger and excitement elsewhere.
For me that is the good thing about here in myLot as well, when you are going thru a situation and need somewhere to come and talk about it, here is a Great place for escape.

If one is annoyed for some misdeed and tries to rectifies it then it is OK. But Anger is always not a source of inspiration. Determination also acts as a spirit to make a good change.

I agree that anger is not at all bad. I may not be familiar with some of your examples but in the Philippines, anger has had its own shares of good tidings. If the people were not angry enough, the Filipinos would never be liberated from the Spanish colonization and we wouldn't experience the freedom that we have now. There are more examples but that's beside the point. Anger as a whole is not a healthy emotion but what we do with it is what brings about a positive change. It doesn't mean however that we all have to be angry in order to make a change. Compassion is also a way of creating change, though it is an emotion not as strong as anger.
