Is it normal for dogs' gums to bleed when they are trying to bite/eat big and hard bones? I have noticed this in our labrador. Whenever I give him big bones, I notice bleeding in his gums. Of course, the bone must be very hard so I assume it must be something normal. I haven't noticed this though with my two other mutt dogs.
I would like to hear from your end.

No dear. its not normal. the calcium level is very low in your dogs blood. so give him calcium tablets daily and give more bones. because bones are rich of calcium. if the bone is more hard then pressure cook the bones for 10 min

Hi
Thanks for the valuable information. so this bleeding occurs due to deficiency of calcium .But i did not understand the relation between the bleeding and the calcium because if calcium is less then the dogs bones should be affected.
okay i think the dogs bones (jaws bones) are not strong enough to bite the bones and so the bleeding. I hope understood in the right way. pressure cooking the bones is a good idea.

Hi cutie
This is the first time i am hearing about such bleeding ,i mean if the bone is hard its common if the dog is applying more pressure. But if its abnormal should go for check up. But i am curiously waiting for the responses to know what may be the reason. Hope everything is normal.

if it's just happening when he is eating hard bones, then maybe it's how he is chewing it?
