Do you think that students sitting at the back of the classroom learn less?

I used to sit in the first sit all of school time.. well, I think students are happy to sit back as they feel more free to play or talk to their friends and for that I would say yes those who sit back they learn less than others if they sit there just for doing naughty things..

Yes I remember when I was sitting at the back, I fell asleep!!! but suddenly I woke up when I heard my classmates laughing and the teacher calling me by my name. And I felt ashamed but as everyone was laughing I did it too, ha ha ha, well thats why I prefer to change my son to the front row

well actually front seats are not really the best or anything parents and kids both have this idea at the beginning till a certain stage but actually speaking front seats in later stages are the best place to play why ? cuz the teacher is always focusing on the people in the back to make sure they pay attention so if you want to play you can easily play at the front seat

IN certain schools they sit the children according to their height. Because obviously children taller will cover the view to the shorter students. And also sitting arrangement is very important in order to get good learning results.

IN my son`s class there are fourty two students. So there is so much noise at the back, and the teachers cannot control the children. I really think that governments should not allow more than 30 students per class. The quality of education depends on the concentration of the kids. IN a noisy classroom this is not possible

Hi there ! It depends to the student, even you place her in front if he don't internalized the lesson still he will learn nothing .
I have similar experienced , during my college days it was my strategy to sit in front near of the t teachers table so that the teacher will recognize and will know that i am existing , so in making a grade teacher will always remember me and somehow let me passed in series of exam.

Yes, I agree with you. If the child is smart he will do well at the back or at the front. But the noise affects the teacher and the students. Maybe at the back the students chat more and they do not pay attention to what the teacher says.

The whole time of being a student I am sitting at the back because of the alphabetical arrangement rule. I am not being boastful about this but I am proud to say that I am one of the top in the class. It all depends on the student if he/she is eager to listen and to learn even if there are hindrances.

I always used to sit at the front. I am short-sighted so I also was obliged to do so. I think it is better, because you can ask the teacher any doubt you have and also you do not get distract by the other classmates at the back.

I do not think so. But it is true that it depends on the educational atmosphere prevailing in the school. If there is so much noise at the class as mentioned by you, it is really difficult for students sitting at the back to listen to the taecher and the result is less learning.

Although my son usually gets good grades He comes complaining about the noise and ask me to tell the teacher to change him to the front. I really think that classroom must have only 30 students. Because this will benefit the learning process.

Hi,
Some students who are not interested in learning used to sit on back benches and make mischief and the honest student can not concentrate on teacher's teaching. But it is not always true. Sometimes students are arranged as per height or alphabetically. So honest student can learn by sitting on back bench. It is very nice that your son got front bench and he can learn properly by sitting on front bench.

Not necessarily, although I do think that students who sit in front are more inclined to pay attention, while those who sat at the back are more likely to daydream, doodle or to chat with their classmates. That's what happened to me, except when the class is really interesting that even if I'm sitting at the back, I stay focused on the lesson.

It is true for some but not all. As I observed my son's class while he was in school, majority of the naughty children were sitting at the back seat. They did make a lot of noise and being nuisance to the others which sometimes affect other students concentration.

Yes, for example now my son was sitting at the back and he got two bad grades so I went to complain to the teacher about the noise in the classroom. Now she change him to the second row at the front of the class and he is better there.
