Okay guys so I have this English professor who for some reasons loves me to pieces. At least once a week i swear she tries to talk me into being an English major even though i'm an Accounting major. So anyways this is an email i received from her yesterday in response to submitting my project in 2 weeks early:
"If you hadn't taken this class, I think I may have succumbed to a nervous breakdown. Thank you. You are a super student and I am sure you won't need me to look over your work but I will happily (even euphorically) do so. Bright blessings on you dear student."

Hmm i guess it's more so one of those things where you'd have to know about the professor to understand. Very few people earn an A in her class, she's pretty high in age so she forgets assignments and what she just told you the day before, and some days she's in a very cranky mood. Plus she used some pretty exaggerated language in the email.

Hey jmcneil0703,
I thInk Cutie18f is right that the email doesn't appear to be funny. It looks like your professor is very happy with your work and is encouraging you. I don't know about you but I rather have a slightly cranky and forgetful professor who writes me nice and encouraging emails than a smart, grouchy, couldn't care less professor anytime.

I think she's a nice professor. Nothing really brightens up a student's day after turning in some paper after working on it really hard than receiving some appreciation from the professor. While it is true that they don't really have to do that, it is nice to know that there are still those who go beyond their teaching responsibilities and go as far as encouraging students in the best way they know how.

I would love that a prof would send me an email like that. I think you have a 'cool' teacher you know his job but doesn't make it boring for the students and himself.
