When I was still studying, I never feel the vacation fever around us!What is on my mind before is to find summer job to have an extra income for my studies. However, nowadays there are only very few students who are having same mindset with me.If you noticed, students are into going anywhere for a vacation, spending extravagantly the money which their parents are really working hard. Mylotters, do you think it's fair enough to act like that?what would be the possible things our students need to do this summer season?

If kids were brought up to be responsible and not spoiled by their parents they would be looking for work. This so their parents wouldn't feel the extra strain on their pocket books. Many parents feel that they can pay their kids way if they are in college but I think they should be responsible before they have to be out in the world.

I think that being overly strict can cause problems. I think you want to instill in a child at an early age the difference between right and wrong and then make them accountable for their actions from then on. Using love and logic works a lot better than being overly strict.

Well, it's summer and it is vacation so that means a break from school. Some students feel the need to reward themselves and have fun for the rough times they had at school. Others on the other hand, wants to save money for the next school year. It really depends on their goal and also their financial status.

When I was in school I always took summer courses except for three times when I went to see my grandparents for a whole month. I always wanted to get ahead in my studies so I could get things done quickly. Now that I am completely done with school I am taking a weeks vacation to Idaho with my husband Randy. I will also be starting my online business soon so I am hoping that I can make money.

It's fine to enjoy after 10 months of being in school. Bur for those people who are a bit having difficulties in saving up money for school expenses, I think students must learn to help their parents even if it would be only for a month or two.

Doing summer jobs or attending the summer courses is the best way to spend our summer leave in an useful way. Some persons are going for a holiday trip in summer and spend a lot of money. There is nothing wrong in going for a trip. But don't spend money unnecessarily. Spending money is very easy, but earning it is very hard. Students can use theis summer holidays in a great way by doing part time jobs or attending the summer courses to learn a new thing.

When I was on High school, I always look for something to earn on summer. I apply for summer job and/or I join some summer contests. And it helped me prepare for the real thing after I graduated college. I already have the idea on how it is to have a job and it made me more responsible. It is really a nice feeling to spend your hard earned money. Parents should encourage their kids on this and stop spoiling them on summer. Just my 2 cents.

it depends on the student. some students like to go on vacation. others like to work. it also depends on the financial situation of the family. i would split it in the middle and do both. work for part of the summer and go on vacation the other.

Hi Daisy: I think it's really good that you consider your parent's efforts. As a student but also as a worker I have learned that people should not spend their money as if there was no tomorrow. Even if someone is paying for us. It's not fair. If everything goes right and I start studying in France or Sweden I think I'll try my best to save some money. Also I'll take a job to help myself with the expenses.

Hi Daisy!
Last Friday the municipality already gave examination for those who graduated from high school or are presently in college to avail of the summer job which is being offered every year in this place. I can see a lot of students who took the examination.
I am happy to know that many youth in our place are taking the chances of having a summer time job. I just wish they will all be hired for the job.
Have a wonderful day!

Hi Daisy...you are right. When I still study in Senior High school, I find a story about some students that make extra income on summer because they have long holidays. In the story, most of students take part-time job for their studies. Yes, nowadays most students take vacation on summer and spend much money throughout the holidays. It is difficult to say that is not fair, because most of parents provide much money for their vacation, although they are really work hard for it.
