Apple ipad vs Amazon kindle

what do you think it's the best reader between iPad and kindle. I have the kindle but not the iPad because I already own an iPhone. Last week I was reading a PDF on my friend's iPad and the content was so good in term of quality.
I started to think if I didn't make a mistake while buying a kindle instead of an iPad.?

iPads do have a great display with their retina display and the high pixel density. However, the Kindle is designed for reading more than the iPad and is a lot less, so if the main thing you are doing on your tablet is reading, the Kindle was probably a fine choice for you.
