I am from Slovakia. It´s my home and it always will be. I love my country. It´s located in middle of Europe. It´s not big country - only something more than 5 million people lives there. Cities aren´t too large as well. My hometown has around 80 000 inhabitans and it´s one of the biggest town in coutry :D. But nature is beautiful there. Not only around my town. But in whole country - mountains, parks, lakes, forests :). And except nature you can find lot of other interesting things in Slovakia - historical town centres with lot og historical building, museums and stuff like that.
Maybe you just heard something about my country - thanks to amazing athletes Slovakia has or maybe you heard something else about it.
So have you been in Slovakia? Or did you heard about it? :)

hehe well on the one hand the reason i know the difference is the whole football thing.
On the other hand it's because i am originaly from Serbia, so Serbian. And i dont know if you know but Slovenia was part of a greater Yugoslavia in the past, while it still existed.
So knowing what i know of Balkan history and of our dear dear neighbours, i can easily tell between the two.
Our languages are probably similar actually, you guys are Slavic people if i am not mistaken, as are we. So we all kind of speak differend variations of the same language. :)

Of course I know that Serbia and Slovenia were part of Yugoslavia. I think that all Europeans should know that. But we learned that at school as well.
And you are right, our languages are pretty similar. But I wouldn´t understand a word. Because always when I was in Croatia or in Montenegro I tried to understand something, but I didn´t. And I think it would be same in Serbia :)

I know it used to be part of Czechoslovakia as a whole country, but in 1993 the country became two independent countries, namely Czech and Slovakia. Slovakia is a beautiful country with mountains, lakes and rivers. All of this information I got is from the Internet. Thanks for this discussion of yours that made me search for some information about it and get to know about your country. Take care.
