There's going to be a whole-day brownout today in our city so even if it is Saturday and I should have lots of time to come online, my participation will be very minimal because of this. Aside from this inconvenience, it is going to be very hot since there will be no fans running. It is going to be a hot and gloomy day in our place. Whew! I can already feel the heat now.
How often do you have power interruptions in your area?

We've never had a brownout here. We seldom even lose electricity due to storms or whatever, so I guess we're lucky. I know some places in the US have a lot more problems than we do, though. The idea makes me nervous because my heater fan needs electricity to work in the winter and it can get really cold without it.

It is interesting that you call it a 'brown out' we actually refer to power interruptions as simply 'power cuts' fortunately a power cut is very very rare in our area, although I don't want to tempt fate! You only realize just how much you rely on electricity when you lose it.

I guess that would be a relief if we may call it that, because you know when it's going to be. Not when you are busy mylotting or any other things that needs power then all of a sudden power off without knowing when it will be back. Yes, we can contact our provider giving assurance that it will be back to normal soon but no time frame.
Well, I guess it's a part of living in our country. Most of us have been used to that. Anyway, the most we experienced here in our place is two hours the most and it's seldom.

We have power shutdown for about 2 hours a day and 8 hours shut down once a month. The problem is going beyond limit as the temperature is raising and the government has already said that they will have this issue till June 2013.Hope things get better soon.

When I was a kid we used to have them very often. Now, we seldom have them. I will never forget that one time when a strong typhoon hit our area and we didn't have electricity for almost a month. We had to spend Christmas with candles.
Brown outs have their advantages, though. First, it brings the family together. During brown outs (especially at night), our family would chat with each other, and sometimes my dad would tell us scary stories. We would be so scared, so we stay together. Second, it allows us to find other ways of spending our time without technology.
The one thing I don't like about brown outs is that sometimes it interferes with the things I have to do, like homework. The heat also makes me uncomfortable.

I have been in this new residential area for more than 10 years now. We used get this brownout during the first few years of our stay here. It is very inconvenient without the electricity. There are so many things which we would like to do but being disrupted. And it is not for a while but sometimes it could be up to whole day.
But I am glad that this problem has been resolved and we have not experiencing it for many years now. So far so good! And I am happy. I do hope this will not happen as I have just learn to have some fun here. I would not want to miss it, hahaha!
