I had only seen my friend once since I returned from vacation
in January and the other one I had not seen in almost a year and we
share the same birthday. we use to bown together for years..Any
way, thursdays is Senior Day at Ihop and we met there and had a
very nice meal...when we were ready to leave they tell us they
can only take cash because their system just went down...now we
are sitting there waiting for the system to come back up because
one of my friends was paying for the tab with her credit card...
so we sat there for a while(a half hour_...then it finally came on
so we had a little discussion about having us sitting there because
they were not able to process us out...so the manager finally
took off all the drinks we had, a mike, a Pepsi and a tropical mango...
the bill was originally $49.+ then with the senior discount it was
$37.+ when I finished with him it was $28.+...but it was a good
evening anyway...
How was your day?????

A lot of places have gotten rid of the manual ones. The store I work in did. The reason for that is that when you run it manually, there is absolutely no way to know if it is going to decline or not. If it declines and we've accepted it then my boss is out of the money until when and if we can track the person down. Also it is extremely time consuming and slows business down so much. First to run the card and fill in the form and make sure you get all the information correct....nightmare!

I think that was great to finagle the bill down like that. I wish my BFF was close so we could go out occasionally. I don't care for IHOP but a Golden Corral or something would be nice. Glad you had a good time and good finagling.

Two hours away?! No, that probably wouldn't work for me either.

hi celtic it did not call for me to finagle at all...when I spoke
with him about our long wait for them to get their system working he
stated he would take off the drinks...right is right...and if I
really had a choice Golden Corral would definately be the choice
but the closest one to me is about 2 hours away..thats not going
to work for me....LOL

I am glad they at least took your drinks off for the inconvenience. Good thing you had your friends there with you to make the wait not as terrible.
My day today was pretty laid back. I got my son off to school, took my daughter to school, got breakfast, and took a nap. A LONG nap! After they got home from school I took my daughter to pick up dinner at hit the grocery store. Been home relaxing ever since.

I am glad that you got a chance to see your friends and had a great time. I am sorry that their system was down and they could not take your friend's credit card. My day was okay. I just relaxed and slept in. I have been so busy with my quilting classes and jewelry classes that I have been on the constant go. Today I needed some time to rest and tonight I will clean house and get everything organized.

It's terribly hot in our city for the past several weeks. And even if the mall is just a few minutes away from here, I try not to go there coz it would mean spending unnecessarily most especially that kids would be asking to buy food all the time.

It is so wonderful to have such deal for the seniors. This is something many are looking forward to it.
Mr friend's family did invited us to join them for such a good deal for the Buffet Hi-Tea in one of the prestigious restaurant. The price is half and it is all you could eat. I could not joined them for the deal as I am not qualified but my hubby is. So, I needed to pay full price whereas the rest are paying half price!

Thanks emily...I am sure you can join them sometimes..Just
because you have to pay full price, you should not be left
out of all the fun...LOL..I have gone to Senior Day with
someone who was not a senior...but that did not keep them
from going with me...
