I am wondering if this is a scam.
I received a message from an address ending with this. It is supposed to be a monthly update on my Paypal activities. But it doesn't contain any updates, just a general email. The suspicious part of the message is to the side where there is a link for you to add your card. I did not click it of course. But I think if you did add your card, whoever sent the message obtains your card information.
I never respond to email messages regarding my finances. I always go to their website, which I have bookmarked, and check from there. The link is reliable unless it is hacked. I also filter emails from my finance websites into folders using their official email addresses. If it does not go directly to the folder, I get suspicious.

I am sure, you're correct. Usually these kind of e-mails are from phishing sites. The e-mail might look quite legit and some people do fall for it. They usually have a link to their website. If you press the link always check the url of the website you're visiting. To make sure it's the paypal website and not some phisher site link.

I am extra careful when it comes to my finances online. It is very convenient but you have to watch out for things like this.

Yes u are absolutely right, u did the right thing by ignoring those messages that asks your finance details, in fact even i get such messages daily but i have never paid heed to anyone of them. I get a monthly mail from Pay pal and those r valid ones other than that all r fake n are meant to fool us.

The thing is, I do get them regularly. Not monthly but fairly regular. I just ignored them since they go to my junk mail and they don't contain any important information.
