Trees are being cut down Unnecessarily

Here in our town, many trees are being cut down every week as they are widening the roads. But, its actually not necessary to make such wide roads. Because, this is a very small town and there is not much vehicles like big town/city have. No one cares for trees. I am saying this, because last year, the main road connecting the bus stop were widened and a no. of big healthy old trees were cut down. Almost half of the roads are not being used most of the time. Dust has been gathered there and people are parking on the road and what will traffic police do, as it is not being used, so allowed to park. And that was the main road. And they are doing work almost at the end of the town . The most crowded part has too many shops and are managed by some wealthy people. So, even if those are crowded, there is no work is going on and there are not even a tree to cut, only some small shops to be broken down and govt. is ready to give them money. But, they took help of lawyers and law and those places are extremely crowded, due to small sized road. Tell me, is it justified cutting tree unnecessarily , because they can't take help of lawyers and can't bribe, only tries to help. Believe me it's a small town. No train, plane, no star hotel, and nothing big.

Maybe that town even small is developing. I don’t know whther your government want to build and develop something for your town, but it seems they also have the own plan for it. But of course it’s saddening when the trees are cut down unnecessarily. Too many building and roads built while the trees being more and more fewer. This is why global warming is approaching. Even climate is already not be exact anymore.

i feel that is not justified cutting trees unnecessarily. Why waste money on this rather than helping the residents in need ? Maybe I'm wrong. They might have plans for the future. I believe India is a good place to live in. You all are friendly people . Because in Singapore here, there are many Indian nationalities who are friendly and helpful. And they are healthier too. I can understand your frustration. Think positively . Surely your place is a good place to stay. :)

Yes. my place is good to stay. But it will not be long. We already have water problems due to the draining of the nearest river. Also, soon here will be a Thermal Power plant which will worsen the condition. Many trees will be cut down and also many cultivating fields will be destroyed as well as many wild creatures.

Hi, You are right. It is not good to cut trees on large scale in your small town. But India's population is going on increasing and for the shelter people are cutting trees which are necessary for our living. They give us many things. They give us oxygen, food and shelter. But as we don't care and cut the trees earth's environmental balance would be badly affected and we may suffer by the global warming. Everyone should plant trees and should not cut trees.

Thanks for you understanding. Its necessary for living to cut down trees, which most are doing. But it's also necessary to plant new trees which only a few are doing. But cutting trees to make wider roads is not necessary at this town for now, If there would be problem it can be done later. And why they are not destroying the shops of some wealthy people, which always makes traffic jam due to narrow roads

This is the big dilema in modern life, when is it really necessary to cut down trees and when should they be spared or more planted. As we expend as a race, we humans need more and more space for our houses, roads, shops etc, but very often the trees are cut down for other things as well that aren't needed or there are ways we could get the space we need without cutting so many trees down. And, as you so rightly say, we cut down tres to make room for roads and things then don't use them. With all the rubbish we are putting into the air all the time, I think we need to plant more trees instead of cutting them down. As you say, the trouble is that there is too much money to be made by certain, powerful people who aren't looking to the future.

Yes. The rich as well as govt. are not trying to save the planet. They just want to live the moment. But poor people are being affected more due to this.

i can sense your anguish but you need to take note of one thing. india is fast developing country so what appears to be a very small town today could well become a busy hub in very few years. so development is here to stay but government cant ignore environmental concerns. i have a solution to this. for every single tree cut in a town the government can plant a tree in a remote location in a town thus solving the problem

Ok. You may be right. But, govt. is actually never planting trees. Even if they do, they just plant and get publicity and forget about the plant. Most of these plants actually die. And what about the shadow where it feels cool when you travels in summer. And what about the birds and animals take shelter at the tree.
