This will always be one of my most favorite anime. It was surprising that I couldn't find any sole discussion on it. Maybe many of you here didn't hear about. So I created this discussion, solely dedicated to Kaichou wa Maid Sama a.k.a Maid Sama.
Description:
Kaichou wa Maid Sama! literally translates to "The President is a Maid!". It is the story of a strong girl, Misaki Ayuzawa, who is the student body president of a high school which was recently turned from an all-boy high school to co-ed. She single-handedly battles the problems that come with a newly formed co-ed, to protect the 20% of girls. She has to be strict and ruthless to maintain proper order in the school, and in that process gains a reputation of being an uptight, boy-hating dictator among the male students and as a shining hope among teachers and female students.Off campus she works part-time at a maid-cafe(which is role-play cafe) to support her family. One day Takumi Usui, the most popular boy in her high school, whom she hates the most, accidentally finds out about her working in a maid-cafe. Now her hard-earned reputation to keep the school running, is threatened.
It comes under the genres - shoujo, romance, comedy and drama.
It is a really good anime. If you are a Shoujo anime fan, then you will definitely love it. If you watch it, I would like to hear your thoughts about it.
And if there are any Maid Sama! fans out there, let us discuss.
What do you like about it?
Does Misaki make you feel inspired and strong?
Aren't Misaki and Usui one of the most cutest anime couples out there?
Do you want Maid Sama to have a Second season?
And anything and everything about Maid Sama!...

Thanks for bringing this up!
Yeah, totally, maid sama is very famous! Fan girls often claim it to be one of the best shoujo anime's out there.
The story is fun and the relationship of Usui and Misaki is interesting. Usui's an awesome cook(being the glut that I am, that's definitely a plus!)
I like Misaki because she's independent and strong. She denies her feelings most of the time, it makes her more interesting. She's not the typical damsel in distress, she'd save her own @ss if she could.
Usui is interesting too. The fact that we know little about his past is intriguing. It bothers me a little that he is too perfect. However, we don't often see perverted hot bishounen lately, so he really stands out. I love his Engrish!! XD
I don't think there will be a second season. Often shoujo anime's don't go further than one season. The only choice we have is to read the manga!

I can't say that they are that unique because they are part of mainstream shoujo anime which is set in a high school. However, Usui's perverted side and laid back personality is a good twist from the typical cool guy who is not interested in girls and is usually emo.
It's a good thing that Usui is the one who made the first move, it's sickening to see girls approaching boys in anime most of the time. In my culture, girls who chase boys are viewed in a negative way.
I think you might like Dengeki daisy? The main guy looks a little like usui and he is interesting too. Check it out. I just wish they give Usui some imperfections too. So far, the only imperfections they give him is he is an illegitimate child.(OOps, spoiler!)
Hehe, I know. They actually do that on purpose so they can market the manga more, make fans giddy with anticipation. I read the manga long ago but now I lost interest in it because it's update is so slow. Try to look for other anime and manga to preoccupy yourself. You may also read THE ONE, if you haven't yet.

:) When I said he's unique I was also talking about his laid back and yet forward nature. He's not too open about himself, yet way open in expressing his feelings. So different from most of the shoujo guys. Yes they too have their similarities with others, but they are unique in their own special way ;). And he's not the only anime lead guy that I like a lot, there are some others too.
I too like it when guys make the move first. I read about Dengeki daisy before, just never got around to reading it. I'll try it one of these days.
;(....how could you do it to me........No more spoilers pleaseee.....
I always thought he had some problems with his family, but never suspected that it would be this.
'The one'...feels like I heard the name somewhere, but don't think I know anything about it. I'll check it out.
:) thanks for the suggestions
Have a nice day

Hi again Aja :)
Yes Usui and Misaki make one of the best anime couples. I like both the characters a lot, they are unique and interesting. I have never seen any other characters similar to them in any anime I've watched so far. Even the story is one of a kind.
:D I too love Usui's voice a lot. The voice they chose for him couldn't have been more perfect. He definitely stands out ;) . I've been searching for another story with a character like Usui for a long time now, with no luck :(. If you ever find a story(manga or anime) similar to this, or anything with the lead similar to Usui, please let me know too.
:( I know but I can't help hoping. I really want a second season. I want them to cover Usui's past in it. Without his past, the story just doesn't feel completed to me. And I am desperately waiting for the manga to be completed. Ongoing manga are not for me, I am the type that can't bear to wait for the next release. So waiting for it to finish so that I can read it all at once.
Have a nice day :)

I like it because of Usui!
Now you can guess who I am.
It's enjoyable, even if you are not a shoujo fans. I'm more of a Shonen fan, i prefer getting jailed with a bunch of Naruto, Saiyuki or Sword Art online stuff rather than luvvy flirty manga, but once in a while, even I need to breath some fresh air. Then this anime appear at the right time.
Usui and Misaki did make a good couple. I love how Misaki can't control him.
But Misaki does not make me feel anything.

Really? How are they different? I'm not into shoujo, but i did watch a few, like Clamp's Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and Hakuouki, and if you can consider Vampire Knight as one. Strong heroine, but still need protection from the hero (or else it won't be shoujo). Ain't they the same as Misaki?

I haven't seen any of the anime that you mentioned yet. I have heard of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, but it comes under shounen genre. Misaki doesn't depend on Usui. You can see in the anime that in almost all the troubles she comes across in the anime, even though Usui is always right there to help her, in the end she solves the problems herself. :) Yes most of the shoujo girls are shown as needy for protection, but there are some exceptions too. There is a manga "Matsuri Special". If you read manga, check it out some day. It is about a girl who is a wrestler. And as for Usui :D, his laid back and yet forward nature is one of the many things that make Usui unique to me.
Have a nice weekend :)

Hello Shaqziad :)
Yes you are right, it is not limited to shoujo fans, some shoujo fans like shounen, just like some shounen fans like shoujo. :) I like shounen too.
I like both Usui and Misaki characters a lot. They are different from the everyday shoujo leads.
Have a nice day :)

I don't feel Misaki is truly strong. She's only physically strong but when it comes to Usui she turned into this blushing mess. Personality wise of Misaki in my opinion is not strong at all.
If you think that she's strong then it's not my place to make you to change your mind.
I read a bit of the manga but I didn't watch the anime.
That anime having a second season? When it's popular and the manga is still ongoing so it's bound to have a second season no matter because the demand is there.

Hello Trinity,
:D Yes she's like a completely different person when she's with Usui. She has gone through a lot, and that hardened her, she needs to be strong (I mean a stronger exterior, a front) as she can only depend on herself. And Usui makes the inner true her come outside, as he's like the support she has never had in her life.
:) I guess we all have our own way of looking at things.
I have only seen the anime. I have wanted to read the manga since then. I can't bear to wait for the releases. So I am waiting for it to complete.
No there is no second season and there is no official announcement so far, but many fans believe that a second season is possible as the manga is still ongoing. I too hope there is a second season.
Have a nice day :)

I have seen Kaichou wa Maid Sama on Animax before as an anime. I never really bothered with the manga because I feel like the story is not that good (my shoujo anime reference is always Kimi ni Todoke) compared to many shoujo anime/manga that i have seen before. Anyways, I did like it a little bit so I had hoped that there would be a second season, but according to the mangaka himself (herself? not sure) there would be no season 2. i dunno the reason why but my mangafox forum friends said the mangaka announced it.

Hello bunnystarr,
I've only watched Kimi ni todoke movie. I liked it. If I am not wrong, the anime is still ongoing right? So I didn't watch the anime. I'll wait until it's finished. Anyways we all have our own different tastes :).
Really!!!?? Are you sure, that the mangaka announced directly, not just a rumor?
;(... Hope it's just a rumor...Since they never denied it and the first season was a success, I always thought one day, they would definitely release a second season..

*-* I know what that naime is because he is in my = to see list but i didn´t get to the part where I see it since i need to finish other animes first.
It does sound kinda interesting ? I wonder why does she hate that boy.
And o.o why is this anime romance anime

She doesn't like boys in general, because of some issues since her childhood. Her father leaves them when she is still young, and their family has to go through a lot to make ends meet. And in this high school too she has to constantly protect the girls from the antics of boys (the school had a bad reputation when it was an all boys school). And on top of all this she constantly keeps finding Usui (a popular boy) rejecting girls in a rude way when they propose and the girls end up crying. So she doesn't like Usui. It is of romance genre because, it covers concepts of love and romance.
I recommend that you watch it. If you are shoujo anime fan, then you will definitely like it. :)

Hi ^^!
Some time ago I began to watch KMS too, the manga not the anime, but because of school I forgot about it...
I remember it was a very cute and funny shoujo [ it was a shoujo, no ? o-0]. And the Misaki x Usui cuplu was very complicated. I liked that Usui was trying to be like a badass guy, but inside he was very delicate and protective with Misaki. And this applies to Misaki too ^^.
Well...because it passed a lot of time since I've read a chapter from it, I can't comment too much of it because I'm affraid to not begin to mistake it's details with another mangas xD [happens a lot].
Now, because I have one week of holiday... I know what I'll do! I'll continue to read KMS ^^!
Thanks for reaminding me about it!
Have a nice day! :)

Hi Yume :D
I first came to know about it through anime, so watched it first. I wanted to read the manga since then, but didn't want to start reading an ongoing manga. I know I wont be able to bear to wait for a new release all the time. Waiting for it to complete so that I can read it all at once.
Yes it is a really funny and romantic shoujo story. I am happy to hear that my discussion reminded you about it. You'll definitely like it. We can get back here and talk about it, after you finish it.
Have a happy and fun filled holiday :)
