Can a newbie upload a picture in mylot discussion?

I wanted to add an image to a discussion that I was posting. There was an 'add image' option below the text area for discussion, I clicked it and chose the image, after that I couldn't find any button for upload. And at the bottom there was text that said "you have reached your photo upload maximum. please try again later." Can't a newbie upload a picture too (among other things I've notices like smileys, fonts, paste option) on mylot till a certain number of posts is achieved? If so, how many posts are needed before we can upload a picture?

That is right I forget about the 500 rating. Sorry about that.. anyway after that, you can now upload pictures as much as you want as long as its not copyright by anyone else..

You can upload a picture to illustrate your discussion but it must be relevant and must NOT be copyrighted. Please read the Photo Guidelines carefully: http://www.mylot.com/o/photoguidelines.aspx and remember that nearly all of the images you find on the Internet are copyright. MyLot has an unspecified limit for the number of pictures which may be uploaded per day. It is not (as far as we know) a personal limit. There are also restrictions on the file size and file type. See the FAQs for more information. You can use emoticons when you reach a User Rating (the number in brackets by your name) of 200 and you can add images to responses and comments as well as discussions when you reach a User Rating of 500. You can use the Bold, Italic and Underline font formats whatever your User Rating.

Owlwings, Thanks for responding. Yes I have already gone through all the photo guidelines. I was just going to upload the banner picture for a tv show that I was talking about. As they are used for promoting, I think its fine to use them. Can we modify our discussion posts later, or are they permanent once we post them? Can I add the image later to the discussion after getting 500 rating?

:O Reporting, removing, redoing!! it all, is way too much trouble. It is not essential, it's just that I like it that way. :) I Guess I'll just have to wait until 500. Thanks for your help :) Have a nice day

It is likely that a newbie can't upload a picture in Mylot discussion. You need to have 500 posts here so that you are able to upload an image. Besides, at that time you can also have the copy and paste feature here.

Hello youless, I am only 4 days old in mylot. Hm...500 seems like such a distant dream. But right now all I can do is wait until 500, so that I can use paste, image, emoticons and every other feature that is available to higher rated mylotters. :) Thank you, Have a nice day

I am not really using upload photos feature, so I don't really know about it. But I think I've never read about limit for upload photos. What I know is the limit about copy paste feature.
