my friend is very upset with her husband because she says she doesnt want to be treated like a switch on and off at will.she wants him to be romantic prior to getting to the act,she has complained at times he is just glued to his newspaper or telly but when they get to the room he expects to get good action and when she declines he wont talk to her even for two days,is this normal with other couples and how does she get him to change?men also advise us please.

millions of women share your friends' point. as much as we want to please our husbands, we get irritated when they seem uncaring and selfish.
it is very important that couples are open about this. i suggest that she talks with her husband, tell him what she wants and expects from him. her husband is not psychic so unless she is explicit in expressing her thoughts and her feelings, he will never know.
we presume that men know these things or that they must know these. we are wrong. no two women have the same desires. most men aren't as sensitive as we are so we need to explain our needs clearly to them.
