I don't remember getting my tax forms for SSDI

This is for SSDI recipients in the USA. If you are on SSDI (not SSI) did you get your tax form from Social Security yet to date what you got in 2012 for your taxes? It's nearing time to do my taxes and I don't have my statement from The SSA to state what I drew last year. I wonder if anyone has not got theirs.
Please share.

I don't remember ever getting mine. I got my statement in December that said how much my SS payment would be, but that's not the one I'm waiting for. It's the one that said what I made all year.

I just did that. The reason I didn't get it was my new address was not updated. I guess it wasn't forwarded to me and the mailbox from my old address is at this address. Anyway it's on it's way now. And my address is now updated.

Maybe, call and request to mail another. I know here you need to have taxes submitted by end of April, and the way the government goes you wouldn't get it until November.
Ive never had to deal with getting money from the government nor do I want too. They just try to screw everything up.

You should have gotten it well before the end of Feb. If you only made $660. dollars in addition to your SSI then chances are that you do not owe so I would not worry about it.
I get a little over $1400. and they tell me it is not taxable so unless I have a large income from other sources, Lottery, gambling, part time cook. I do not even bother to file.

Yes I guess that would be best at least then they cannot get you for tax evasion like the mobsters.
I just wish they would get it together and stop with the price increases, I do not even have enough to worry about eating anymore it seems. This month my Insulin increased from $35. a month to $400. a month but I can't quit it so I have to pay it. I think Obama is just trying to get rid of us old folks, using our medicare to force the public opinion against the Republicans the way he is.

The IRS gets a copy of my 1099 that Yahoo sends out I think. So I'm scared not to file. The previous year I made $1200 in income from writing and didn't have to pay in. The year before that I made over $2000 and I did have to pay about $150. I get $1110 after Medicare costs are taken out. I wish I made as much as you.

i thought that SSDI was tax free, or that you didn't have to file taxes on them?

I'm a writer and I make enough to get a 1099 every year. I got my 1099 from Yahoo but did not get my statement from Social Security. Everyone gets them each year whether they file or not. I've always gotten them.

You should have gotten it a long time ago. I had clients coming into the office with theirs as early as the first week of February. I would call and see about getting one sent out to you if you have not already. Monday the 15th is the last day to file in order to file on time.

I called and they are sending it. I hope it gets here in time. She put me on hold and then said she sent it out to me. It's probably an order to another department to send out, but it's done. I didn't update my address when I moved. I thought I did it online but they still had my old address.

I got mine awhile ago. Maybe you should call Social Security and see if yours has been sent and, if so, when. Let them know you haven't received it so they could get another one out to you a.s.a.p.
One question, do you file every year even though you don't have to pay taxes? I'll have to know what to do once I leave my husband. I know we don't pay taxes if we're alone but my husband and I are paying taxes on my disability money because of his income.

I file every year because I earn money with my writing. Every year that I get a 1099 form for writing I file taxes. I didn't have to pay last year. One year I had to pay $200 to Federal.

If you are on SSI you might not get one. I get one every year. It's an SSA 1099. I just called the SSA's toll free number and got it sent out to me. The reason I didn't get it was that I failed to update my new address. They couldn't get into my file using this address but when I gave them my old address they got into it. So the lady put me on hold while she ordered it sent out to me.

I think you should get in touch with the revenue office to check than wait around and be late with your submissions where these people will not take kindly to.
I wonder how is it that you are not filing your taxes online where some Asian countries are already doing? I even hear that they give special incentive rewards for early submissions and entitle all online submitters a chance to win a grand luck draw prize of a car and cash.
I hope that you will not be late with whatever submissions here at your end and run foul with the revenue office which can be very nasty in your country.

Yeah I can do that. It takes forever to call but I'll probably do that.
