I was reading this article in the http://Yahoo.Finance
Do you live in one of these placs...Manhattan/ NY,
Brooklyn/ NY, Honolulu/ Ha, San Francisco/Ca, San Jose/ Ca,
Queens/ NY, Stamford/Ct, Washington DC, Orange County/ Ca,
Boston/ Ma...
The Council for Community and Economic Research recently measured
the prices of common purchases in 307 urban areas to find the cost
of the professional standard of living in each location. The index,
its fifth edition, crunched more than 50,000 prices -- everything
from grocery items to transportation to housing.
Take a look at this list of prices from a gallon of milk to Movie
ticket to haircuts...very interesting...
Do you or someone you know live in one of these expensive places???

Hi bjc66bjc! About 13 years ago, I was living in Manhattan/NY. Yes, it is expensive. The rent on the small studio ( really small ) cost over $1,300 per month. And that was 13 years ago. It was only last for 2 months, couldn't afford it and still can't!
But yes, those expensive places are expensive as they say :)

They left off Las Vegas, Nevada as well. It is expensive living here and if Randy and I could afford it we would move out of state. The traffic is terrible out here and randy gets scared every time he drives and it is not healthy. The only things keeping us here is family and the great medical care he is getting. To us the health care is more important. If one wants to live in a nice area rents go for 1800 a month for a two bedroom and houses sell for 150,000,000-300,000.00 or more.

I don't live very far from Boston but luckily I don't live in Mass. The cost of living in that State is pretty bad from all I hear.I believe that Boston probably would be the most expensive city in that State. One thing I also hear is that their pay rates are much better though. Many people come to my State to purchase things cheaper and many people from my State will work over in Boston where the wages are higher.

i have never been on us,but i can guess,if the place is crowded and there are many job possibilities this city is expensive
all around the world its same
in here tokyo, you can rent a small house with only one room like 60 000 yen,and its really expensive,i think buying a house is the best solution if we can
