wrestlemania 29 thoughts and what not...

so, my wrestlemania 29 in-game didn't go on as i planned. covered only the last three matches. i really wanted to have a running commentary of the matches as it happened or even have my comments up right after each match. it didn't pan out as planned but still... anyway, here are my thoughts about the matches. for easier reference, i'll just go on per match: *first is the intercontinental championship match at the pre-show. seriously? one of the most important titles in wwe history and it is relegated to a pre-show??? just doesn't make sense nor does it sit well for me. i remember a good amount of wrestlers who held the intercontinental belt and had very memorable intercontinental matches... macho man randy savage vs ricky 'the dragon' steamboat... bret 'the hitman' hart vs british bulldog... british bulldog vs shawn michaels...stoen cold steve austin vs owen hart... the rock vs stoen cold steve austin and the list goes on and on and on. i mean, wwe could have bumped the match in the main wrestelmania card and instead made the 8-man mixed tag team between tons of funk vs team rhodes scholars instead (which wasn't shown for reasons unknown). the miz wins this one but without a fight from wade barrett. i don't know what wwe is planning for this miz-barrett feud. it seems to have run its course. i think the miz can move up to the league and start getting pushed seriously once again. he had headlined wrestlemania before and for sure he can do it again. he needs to have a serious feud going on with another superstar. wade barrett is a superstar in the making and one of the few that i really think that the company shoudl pin its hopes on. he had a feud going on with bo dallas after the royal rumble and that seem to just fizzle out. anyway, hopefully, this new chapter for both the miz and wade barrett bring them more featured matches and better storylines. *tag team championship match between team hell no and the team of dolph ziggler and big e langston was entertaining but really came as a surprise since i had initially thought that team hell no will drop the titles to dolph ziggler and big e langston. i love that both kane and daniel bryan got a big pop from the crowd during the different times in the match. these two are very entertaining, skilled, and hard working wrestlers so although they may appear to be 'mismatched' as a tag team, they are highly effective. much as they have been a good tag team, i personally think they have run their course as a tag team and i would love to see them drop the tag team titles to a deserving team, possibly team rhodes scholars or perhaps the usos or perhaps the prime time players. *a battle of the heavyweights with mark henry versus ryback. i had initially thought and said that ryback wins this one. mark henry wins this match although it isn't a clear win. ryback surprised a lot when he had mark henry up on his shoulders fro a shell shock but mark henry grabbed the top rope and 'fell' on top of a 'knocked out' ryback for the 1-2-3 count. after the win, mark henry made the mistake of going back to the ring and getting shell shocked by ryback twice. so talk about being declared a winner but ending up a loser after the match. this loss continues ryback's losing streak in pay per view events. *chris jericho versus fandango is mind boggling to me. i know jericho has said that he really doesn't care if he wins or loses a match as long as he gives a good show, he is contented with it. i for one had this match circled as a win for jericho and was surprised how it ended. this is a big push for fandango and hopefully we see wwe creative start the build up process of future stars. i think we haven't seen the end of this feud and i do hope chris jericho wins their next match up possibly at extreme rules. *the shield versus randy orton, sheamus, and big show was another good match. the shield won this one and they continue their win streak at ppv's to 4-0. another good showing for the shield and although i think that individually, each wrestler in the shield will be better off once they start to branch out in their respective careers, their current showing as a group ain't that bad. it was a back and forth affair for both teams with each wrestler getting hyped up. finally a spear on randy orton sealed the fate of the collectione of previous champions. in the end, the shield escapes with the win. many had thought that a loss would drive randy orton to being a heel but surprisingly it is big show that ended up giving the ko punch to both sheamus and orton. with the win, this shield storyline continues but i do hope they break this group up sooner than later and see each of the three wrestlers in singles competition. *alberto del rio retains the championship belt with a cross arm breaker on jack swagger. nuff said. i do hope this feud continues but there are questions as to what will happen with jack swagger after wrestlelmania in connection to his dui arrest a couple of months back. perhaps at extreme rules they can have a match again with a different stipulation. i expect wwe to continue to push alberto del rio as a champion. him and ricardo rodriguez clearly are made to appeal to the latin/mexican demographic of the wwe. ricardo is a goofball of a character, he reminds me so much of santino marella. ricardo is a good mouthpiece to the character of del rio. i have a running commentary and some of my thoughts on the other three matches. kinda pressed for time so i'm going to leave this discussion for now. anyway, my fellow mylotters, what's your take on wrestlemania 29? what were your favorite matches? what were your favorite highlights of the show? feel free to chime in. cheers everyone!!!

I did not get to watch the PPV but for the most part the matches went as I thought they would. I was happy when the Miz won the IC. I thought he would be a good champion. Its too bad that he lost the rematch the following night and Wade Barret got the title again. I was happy that Undertaker beat CM Punk. 21-0 is a nice record for the Undertaker. Perhaps someday there will be one worthy to take out the Undertakers record. The shield won. Bah. Was kinda hoping they wouldnt. I guess that is just how things goes. Mark Henry vs Ryback..... I call shenanigans. Especially the way the match ended. With what has happened on RAW I think Ryback might have turned heel after shellshocking Cena in the ring. Even if Ryback didnt turn heel I think he will be a contender for Cena's belt. I was happy that ADR won his match against Swagger. Now im just disappointed that Zigler cashed in on Del Rio when he was injured. I hope Rio gets a rematch and squashes Zigler and then AJ leaves him. I figured that Cena would win the match against The Rock. The Rock is so very busy with movies that I dont think that he would be able to devote the time needed for WWE and being a champion. I still hope Rock will be wrestling, but I do enjoy the movies he is in. I want to go see GI Joe: Retaliation really bad. I kinda would like to see Brock Lesnar as a regular wrestler again.

hi again elvish1978. i was glad that miz won the intercontinental title as well. i really thought it would be the start of the resurgence of miz once again and i was really surprised that the title was won back by wade barrett. i honestly do not understand these quick title changes. i was hoping that wade barrett would lose the intercontinental title and then move on to another feud, perhaps with bo dallas or with other nxt personalities, but it seems wade will hold onto the intercontinental title for much longer. udnertaker winning in wrestelmania is a lock. i would feel really really bad if his win streak is broken. that would be blasphemy! hehehehehehehehehe! cm punk it seems will be going on a hiatus. he has some injuries and his body can surely take a break. undertaker seems to be joining team hell no against the shield and although i don't want to see the sheild end their win streak in pay per views, i certainly don't see the shield getting a clean win as well. perhaps, the shield will pin bryan? mark henry getting another wrestlemania moment is nice. i do hope he gets a title shot and win it even for the last time. ryback seems to be turning into a heel with his upcoming feud with cena. good for him. monsters should be heels. the del rio-swagger-ziggler triple rivalry is heating up and i'd really like to see a nice triple threat match out of these three. it won't make sense if they don't have one. cena vs the rock is as predictable as it gets. they even followed the script from last year's wrestlemania. cena-rock trilogy is coming next wrestlemania for sure. brock wrestling full time migth not be possible but i do expect him to have matches at pay per views. he won't be that 'talent' who will be int he show every week that's for sure. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

hi there garaveta. first off, speaking for myself, i do like the miz because i think he is an effective heel. not really aware of the movie that you are talking about. the guy needs to have a feud going for him but not as a baby face but rather as a heel. not so sure why wwe hasn't set up more heel vs heel feuds. i think that will generate a lot of buzz. agree that john cena is as stale as ever. however, he remains as the face of wwe and the company's biggest draw so we really can't argue with the income he generates. lol! punk is taking time off to recover fromt eh injuries he has sustained. good for him. i know he will come back strong as ever. perhaps even better. there has been talk that it is difficult working with sin cara and that his brand of wrestling isn't suited with most of the other wwe superstars. i personally would like to see wwe push sin cara. the feud between two sin caras was ok in my book although it has been done before. i was surprised that they cut that one fairly quick. with alberto del rio as a baby face, it leaves little room for sin cara. i do think that he should be more involved with feuds rather than being a jabber. tensai joining brodus clay is a waste!!! even the same can be said about the gimmick that brodus clay is doing. they should get rid of their silly name (tons of funk???!!! get out of here!!!), their silly dancing, and their silly get-ups. wwe creative should package tensai and clay as monsters!!! similar to what they had before in the natural disasters (earthquake and the re-christened tugboat into typhoon) and the twin towers (big boss man and akeem), in my opinion, that is what the team of brodus clay and tensai should do. from someone who was touted as a possible superstar to battle undertaker and end undertaker's win streak at wrestlemania, this has been quite the fall from grace for tensai. as for wade barett, yup, i'm a big fan of barett as well. not really sure what wwe was thinking there. i was never a fan of 24-hour title reigns. i didn't agree with placing the intercontinental match as a wrestlemania pre-show match. didn't agree with barett dropping the belt and didn't agree with barett winning it again. i really thought that the bo dallas-wade barett feud would take off some more. anyway, i agree with your point that 'comebacking' superstars are taking too much of the storylines of the wwe. wwe creative should start makign storylines and feuds amongst wrestlers taht are with them for the long run. we really can't blame them though as these superstars are still very popular compared to their current roster. anyway, i'm sure wwe creative can think of something here. not saying that i'll agree to what they come up with though. thanks for participating and happy mylotting!!!

Wwe has no idea, what to do with Wade Barett(buried the mini feud with Bo).In my opinion he has not comeback at the right time, now when you look at it you got a lot a guys at the top and Barrett doesn't fit into the scheme of things there.Even Randy and Sheamus etc are finding it difficult to remain relevant at the top.I think the returns of past greats has really hurt the present and the near future.Sincara and Tensai are getting wasted.John Cena is as stale as ever,Punk won't be there.Rating will fall below 3. Really..I don't know why you guys like The Miz so much..Is it because of the movie that he just did?

I was disappointed when Triple H won against Brock lesnar. It should not be allowed to use others submission techniques. Why Triple H is using Lesnar technique of tapping. That was quite weird. John Cena victory over Rock was amazing. Even after 3 rock bottom, Cena was able to grab a win. Now Cena will remain Champion for quite some months. Dolph Ziggler finally cashes his money in the bank to strip Delrio from the champion. Let's see what happen in the coming days. Also whether Lesnar will make it to raw or quit wrestling.

hi there anilhclites. i loved the triple h-brock lesnar match. triple h winning made sense. first, he doesn't need to retire from wrestling... yet. for sure, there will come a time that triple h will hang his boots and for sure he will have his 'win or retire' match but it won't be until a couple of years more. he won't be as active with in-ring appearances but that time will come. as for triple h trying to make lesnar tap to the kimura lock, this has been done before, wrestlers trying to use the finishing moves of their opponents to win the match. no surprise there. plus with triple h winning the match against lesnar, this is a sure way to generate publicity for thier thrid match which happens at the next ppv. it will be a steel cage match but the other stipulations are not yet available. cena winning over the rock was expected. again, this paves the way for a trilogy. dolph ziggler cashing in the money in the bank was long overdue. i feel that if it hadn't been for the dui case of jack swagger, wwe creative wouldn't have asked dolph ziggler to cash the contract yet. that's just my opinion. i do like the triple threat rivalry going on right now between ziggler, del rio, and swagger. the swagger-ziggler feud is interesting as it pits two heels. hoepfully, wwe continues this. thanks for participating. cheers!!!

Has Swagger or Ziggler ever been faces? I know I cant remember them ever being faces. I would kinda like to see someone plant both Big E and Ziggler and win the championship. Im also hoping ADR gets well soon. A triple threat match between Zigler-Delrio-Swagger would be very interesting. Im excited to hear about the next Lesnar-HHH match in the steel cage. That sounds like it will be an awesome match. Another interesting thing is that the Brothers of Destruction are going to reuninte. Probably to take on the Shield. At least that is what it sounded like on monday night Raw.

hi elvish1978. no, as far as i can remember, both swagger and ziggler, have never been faces. i don't see why wwe creative don't set up heel vs heel matches. they may portray heels in the shows but make no mistake about it, heels have a following os either way, this match-up will still generate some buzz. the triple threat match between del rio-swagger-ziggler is indeed interesting and hopefully we see it soon. the triple h-lesnar match was announced last raw. unless, there is a real injury to tirple h, i'm sure that this oen will push through. i;m curious as to what the stipulation will be. the brothers of destruction against the shield is indeed a good match-up. the shield have only been in a number of matches, all in pay per views and they have won all these matches. for them to lose at this time doesn't really make much sense. a loss by the brothers of destruction won't hurt either kane or undertaker. perhaps a 'not so decisive' victory by the shield will be an acceptable result. it will further bolster the shield's 'invincibility'. thanks for participating and happy mylotting!!!
