Unbearable Heat

I am aware of the excruciating weather in the country but I just didn't expect it was this bad. A while ago, I placed a number of Hershey's Kisses and Reese chocolates beside me while I work so that when I need one, I don't have to go back and forth and get from the refrigerator. After a few minutes, well 3 minutes to be exact, the chocolates were so melted, it seems like I need a spoon just so I can eat it. Seriously, no exaggeration meant. Well, the weather these days are really something.

Yeah. Even the water from the faucet is totally hot. I was wondering why some dishes were not washed by them and then, when I decided to wash the dishes and open the faucet, the water is hot. So, I stop and leave all the dishes behind.

I think it is good to take a bath in cold water or normal water during summer time than the hot water.

True. I don't even use the hot shower anymore because it's useless. The water coming out of the shower is hot anyway. Unbelievable.

That is so true! You really could not leave the chocolates out for so long with this heat. By the way, those melted chocolates you have are yummy! My favorites, actually. And I weirdly eat them at that state----melted!

I agree. I love those chocolates. But I still prefer to eat them in a non-melted way :))

I read today that this "heat spike" as it's called is an alarming phenomenon that hasn't been seen before - right after that long cold spell that was also troubling. It's very clear that the unusual weather patterns are a result of something going on that's changed weather forever. by the by, I love melty chocolate peanut butter cups...lol.

True. If only I can keep the aircon on for the whole day. But of course, it's going to cost me a lot when it comes to electricity.

yeah, you are right. we have that very extreme hot weather in the country these past days. very hot outside. you cannot dare to stare in the surroundings because for sure, it will soar your eyes badly. and to the skin, gosh, if you'll stay outside under the sun, surely you'll get sunburns and will darken it. not only that, you will feel headaches afterwards. but what happened now after those extreme heat of the sun or weather, it is raining now for two days. i would prefer this way than to have those burning weather. now, it is cool here and love staying the room for this. i guess, our nature has its ways as some of us abused by cutting the trees, mining and such acts that destroy what we have. everyone is paying even not everyone is doing it. how sad and disappointing. we need a change of habit pertaining to this if we want a remarkable weather for us. it is not easy for us but we should do this little by little thanks for bringing this topic to us :) good day!

not so a hard rain; it just a subtle rain enough to wet the surroundings. i mean, it is only drizzling. i do not know what kind of weather we are having now. it was being broadcasted that few parts of the philippines will experienced will rain. it is windy too. surely, you'll get cold when you stay outside of the house. anyway, i prefer this kind of weather that of thus extreme heat of the sun. hmmm. yeah - mistakes done by few is to be reaped with many like of those people who are innocent or nothing to do to destroy the mother nature. it is time for us to be awakened or else, prepare for the bad consequences after. thanks again :)

Mother Nature is indeed getting back at us. This is her way of telling us how much we abused her. I envy you. I want a cool weather too. Not really rains, but at least not hot enough that will not make me sweat even when I'm just sitting down. Have a good day too!

I don't know. Maybe sun rays are more damaging this days? I used SPF 50 and reapply every 30 minutes. At first i was excited to have tan lines without sun bathing. It was totally cool. But, after few days in beach i surrendered. Only one water activity that exposed me to sun, jet skiing(15 minutes ride). My skin got burned. I visited my dermatologist and prescribed me a cream.

Probably. I'm not into sunscreen as well because I want to have that tan line but with the kind of weather we have today, no thanks. I'd rather stay indoors :))

How come? You should've used a higher SPF sunscreen. Anyway, put ice on the affected area as it helps in treating sun burns :)

Here in india weather is yet fine and pleasant but soon it will become hot and humid. We should learn to adjust ourselves according to weather. As living by nature is the name and game of the thing. Happy mylotting.

That's the good thing about Filipinos. Despite this crazy weather, we know how to adjust. And we can even think of ways in order to get by. In fact, some people do take advantage of this make something productive out of it :)

What is it right now over there? It is around 37C here now and so humid. It does feel like summer is back all over again while it is supposed to be fall here already.

Fried egg? No kidding? Wow. I can't imagine how hot it is during that time. And I do hope that the weather here won't be capable of frying an egg on the streets.

Yeah, I agree. In fact, these past few weeks, I just came from the hottest capital city in our country which is in Tuguegarao City and the heat there is really extreme. When I just go out to buy some gifts for my friend who is about to celebrate their wedding day, I was about to faint because of hotness. I got very dark and it is my problem on how to get back to my normal skin color again. grrrr. I guess it takes months.

I agree with you ayeeesha..These days has been so warm. I just don't understand why Philippine's PAG-ASA always says "we have a good weather" when it fact there is extreme heat. "Does extreme heat mean good weather?" I ask myself.

I totally believe you. I have the same problem. I live in Puerto Rico and we can't leave chocolate out either. That is why I try to bake only when its cooler outside which is during December to April. At the end of this month it will get so hot that you can't really do any work outside till after 3pm. So many times I want to bake a chocolate cake but then I have to put it in the refrigerator but I don't like my cake hard.

Oh yes! The summers have set in, but it's not too hot here in Rajasthan at this time. May be I don't feel the heat much as I always remain indoors with cooler and fan on. We have to turn the cooler off at midnight as it becomes really cold at night.

I definitely agree that temperature's rising so extremely high nowadays. I had the same fastest-time-to-melt-food experience just two days ago. Riding a motorcycle, my husband bought us ice drop and went home to eat it. We rode for 3-5 mins and what we had as dessert was ice cream instead, using the ice drop stick as the spoon. Crazy summer!
@ayeeesha (1127)

I experience that too. Every time I eat ice cream, I immediately put it back to the fridge as soon as I got my share, otherwise, it will melt. Definitely a crazy summer.
