I want to place a bid on ebay for a multifunction bag for my dad..but... what will happen with my money if I'll not win the bid? Do the money will come back to me? Is it safe/legit to participate at bids?
-I haven't done something like this until now, but the prices at some bids are so good that makes me think it can't be so easy :(...
Have you ever participated at a bid of an object on ebay?

There's no question of paying if you haven't won the bid. Ebay will only ask you to pay once you have won the bid, and there's only one winner for each bid. Ebay is a very safe site for bidding on internet, they have one of the most legal system to deal with it. In my country they have something like "paisapay", after i win an item and pay for it they create a separate paisapay id for it and keeps money with them. Once i get the item in good condition, i need to confirm it on ebay. After that ebay processes the payment for the person on other hand.

If you lose the bid, your money will not use for paying anything, it wil be back to you, but if you win, then your money you put in the bid will be used for paying tha stuff you bid on.

Only the winning bidder pays what they win the auction for. If you lose the bid, you pay nothing. Nothing is taken out of your PayPal account until the suction is over and you have won.
If you have entered an automatic bid that means that you will enter the maximum price you would be prepared to pay but, if you win the bid, you will only pay what the bidding finished at.
Imagine that bidding starts on an item at 99 cants. You decide that, actually, the item is worth $50 to you (or, at least, that is as much as you are prepared to pay for it), so you enter an automatic bid of $50 and wait. Maybe someone bids $4 so eBay will then automatically bid $5 on your behalf. The next person to bid may bid $8 and eBay immediately bids $9 for you. Perhaps the bidding goes on until the auction ends and the highest bid is yours at $30. You have then won the auction and pay the seller $30 (plus any shipping, of course). If the auction went above $50, however, eBay would stop bidding for you at $50 (and would probably send you an email asking if you wanted to continue bidding). If you didn't increase your bid after $50 and someone else won the auction, you would pay nothing.

Only the winning bidder will have to pay on E Bay I believe. Just make sure you can pay if you turn out to be the winning bidder for the malfunction bag. I hope that you get it and are able to give it to your dad.
In the past I bid for some things on E Bay. Sometimes I won and at other times I didn't. Good luck.

actually it doesnt work like that. if you have an account in ebay then you can bid on any item which you want. for bidding you dont need to pay. only when you win a bid you need to pay and buy the product.
