i think not many will argue that besides Winston Churchill, the other most famous Prime Minister of the UK will be Dame Maggie Thatcher.Britain's first and only woman PM.The great lady passed away from a stroke ( God Bless Her soul) although she has admirers and detractors when she was PM, i count myself in the former, she to me was indeed a towering model of strength and steely resolve, no nonsense tolerated, ( Falklands is an example, where other PMs may have faltered and have no stomach for war and came out victorious, confronted and curbed trade unions, privatised industries etc)she was both hated and loved during her time as PM but she can be counted as one of the most important PMs of the 20th century, transforming the country she lead. The "Iron Lady " will be remembered as such.

My mother just heard it in the news and called to tell me. I have to admit that she was a world icon although I was not happy with the relations she had with my country`s dictator, Pinochet, at that time. But all is past now, and may her soul rest in peace.
