We have a local store we don't normally shop at, but they have a particular type of donut nobody else seems to have, so hubby will occasionally go there for the donuts. While there he noticed they had a few good sales, so later in the day we all went back to check it out.
Armed with coupons, we ended up getting some really good deals. They had General Mills cereal, 4 boxes for $6, plus I had a $1 off coupon! I ended up paying $1.25 per box of cereal!
We also got some Chef Boyardee, Manwich, Bagelfuls and a bunch of other things really cheap. We did spend $40 total, but $15 of that was steak and hot dogs hubby wanted to grill for dinner.
Our savings, with the sales and coupons, totaled over $20!
Of course the reason I don't normally shop at this store is their regular prices are ridiculous! They want at least twice the amount I pay at the store I normally shop at. Thankfully, on things I buy regularly, I know how much it normally costs at my store, so I know if I'm getting a good deal or not.
Have you gotten any good deals recently?
Do you know your store's regular prices of certain items so you can tell if it's a deal or not at other stores?

I went shopping with my sister on Sat. We Scored..not in groceries but other things. We went to the thrift shops...and you should see what we got. At the Goodwill I got five brand new sets of stampin up stamps....still unmounted and unused! They were either four or five dollars a set....normally they are anywhere between $18.00 and $25.00 a set!! I got a ton of other things too and my sister even more. Our older sister won't go into these stores...she thinks she has to buy name brand all the time....and she is in hock up to her eyeballs. I would rather get a good deal. Just got back from grocery shopping and I didn't use any coupons but did get some nice prices on regular things.

There is nothing wrong with thrift stores or goodwill type stores.. look at the amazing deal you got! I shop there for clothes for us all the time.

As far as grocery is concerned, I wouldn't know any better if it were cheaper some place else. I'd usually go by the tags that stores have on their shelves. Items on sale would usually indicate the original cost as well, which would help me decide if it is indeed cheaper.

I've noticed certain things at one store are like twice as much as at other stores.. so I keep very good track of the things I normally buy so I can tell if I'm getting a deal or not. Sometimes they have bogo deals, but at $4 for one when any other store sells them $2 a piece normally.. that's not a deal.

We have a store chain here that is so expensive there is no way I can shop there. They do have alot of BOGO's every week but I have noticed that even at BOGO it still breaks down to being more expensive than where I normally shop.
I have also noticed that at the club store I shop at some of the prices "seem" like a good deal but really aren't if you break it down...plus, you need to watch the expiration dates when you buy in bulk.

I never biy anything full retail price food, health and beauty its or clothes. I am always looking for a great deal. I try to match coupons and sales circulars. Most of the time I end up saving between 30-50% on my groceries. I recently saved 73.00 on my grocery bill. I buy goodwill items all the time because I have 2 children, one who is an infant. they grow out of clothes every few months. I also go to yardaales and flea markets to find deals because sometimes there u can haggle and make your money go even further. Im the person that goes to the clearance racks first mostly at retail stores I buy clithes when they go out of season because they greatly reduce in,price. Lots of time I get clothes and shoes for my kids for $1 or less. Im pretty proud of my savings. I kind of chuckle when I see people pretty much throwing their money away.
