Do we have to suffer and sacrifice in order to do well in the world?

Many people have a deep-seated belief that in order to do well in the world, they have to suffer and sacrifice. This commonly held idea stems from a certain mentality, inherited from those who came before us who may have experienced this as being true in their own lives. This is often the way in which false beliefs take hold and don’t let go, even though they are no longer relevant.
We must all live our own lives, in our own time, and learn what is true for us as very few things continue to be true for all people and all times. Keeping our minds clear of false notions is never easy as these beliefs have settled deep in our unconscious minds where we simply accept and never question them. Nevertheless they have an effect on our minds and consequently, our reality. These beliefs act on us, creating situations and relationships that we regard as fate, when they are, in fact, just thoughts held in our unconscious minds.
In order to move out of this mentality, it is important that we examine the contents of our minds and hearts and get to the root of what we believe about reality. Usually, our concerns of the moment can be trusted to guide us. If we are not manifesting and maintaining the things we know we deserve, then it may be time for us to look into the hidden corners of our psyches and root out any remaining beliefs that tell us we must suffer and sacrifice in order to do well. Our efforts will take us one more step away from this energy-sapping belief that we no longer need.
Let’s hear your thoughts on this.

No, we do not need to suffer or sacrifice in order to do well ,but we can love and assist others every time is possible. Sharing our blessings with others is the best way that we can do well in the world. Some people are just so selfish and self-center that are only concern about their own benefit. Happiness is possible even if our lives have been surrounded by difficult situations. We need to defend the weak and protect them from those who wish to harm them like for example kids and animals are innocent and need our assistance.

We don't have to sacrifise anything at all.It is nice to be able to help someone.Sometimes you do need to suffer a bit in order to get what you need. Not by cutting yourself or killing a lamb to the gods.I saw my parents sacrifise so much for their family and yes it did hurt them.I think inorder to really appreciate what you have acheived you really need to look back and see how you eventually achieved your aims with someones help somewhere.

I sure think we do, just like we all learn from our mistakes. I think we have to sacrafice to get what we want out of life.

I think by that sacrifice means you don't go out for a few weeks in order to buy something for the kids. Most sacrifices are quite easy to make .I gave up work in order to help my son with his exams and care for the other members of the family.I don't look upon this as a hard ship just something I felt good about doing for the sake of everyone. When you do without something for the sake of someone elses good that is a sacrifise and when it works out it was worth it.Yes you should feel good about yourself as it makes it all worthwhile and it does make you smile and feel good about yourself. You would be suprised how many people that do make sacrifises on a daily basis for other people they love. What is wrong with that it is not out moded or old fashioned or silly.Good people who are not selfish or are able to ,do this for the sake of others happiness and what is wrong with that.As for doing good in wide world.I would just accept the fact that I did right in my world and those of who I love.

Hi suzzy, Thank you for responding and you are absolutely right. We do feel good when we sacrifice for others but that isn't suffering. I think you have the right idea and I agree it isn't silly or old fashioned to help others and we can only do it where we are. Blessings.

We should not live other people's life. What is other people's values not necessary
applied to us. We should have our own thoughts and goals. Believe in our own values and success. We can do better we have a positive mindset. What you wrote here can
bring benefits to many readers here as it opens our eyes to see the truth. Thanks.

Everybody knows someone who has the belief that they must suffer and sacrifice, and as they suffer and sacrifice, they enjoy every minute of it. Often their eyes will fill with tears as they dwell on their own martyrdom.
These miserable fools are getting so much enjoyment out of it, and its very obvious to everyone who would help,(if help were possible,) but nothing can make them see that they are their own worst enemy. So they are left alone to suffer their sacrifices, in their own foolish world.

Hi Pose: Although sacrifice is a part of growing- when people certainly have to stop doing something they like in order to have something that is bigger or more valuable, to follow their dreams- it's more important to be mature enough to know exactly what we want or at least to know each others day after day to discover what we need. Because if we do what we love to and what we feel passionate about we won't suffer.

It is not a belief but a fact. Look at any person who is successfull and you would find that there is some pain and sacrifice involved in that person becoming successful. This is because until we suffer from pain and sacrifice the luxury stuff, we cannot devote and do our best to get to the place where people define what success is.

In as much as I believe in the saying; 'nothing good comes easy'. I also believe in destiny. You do not necessarily have to suffer to do well, if one sees an easier and legitimate means to get to the top, I wonder why he or she should retort to a harder means.

the subject is heavy and serious,in the first i want to commend your fluency writing,i will learn from you.next,it is said "no pains,no gains",in one's life,he can dicide what is important and what is not important.so he will do whatever things that are worth doing, even though he has to suffer and sacrifice.there is a libra in his heart,he will measure the weight of suffering or happiness.
