yes I was getting out of my car door today and the handle came off
right in my hand...It was a WHAT THE HELL moment...I was able to
get it back in the grove enough to open the door...then I drove
direcly to the Toytota parts department in another town and ordered
the necessary inside door handle and I will go pick it up tomorrow
and my mechanic has already been notified I will be bringing my
vehicle to him and he will install it for me...He has to take the
door off to install it and I know the mechanic at Toyoto would have
charged an arm and two legs to install it...LOL..

This is the first time I hear the car door handle came off . It is fortunate that you could still have it fixed back and able to close and open your door again. And it is good that it happens during the day where you could drive directly there to sovle your problem . I wonder how much it will cost...

hi emily I did mention it previouslsy in a response:so I just
copied and pasted...since the answer is the same....
The door contraption was $57.00
and my mechanic will install it for $20.00.. I am good with
that because he has to take off the entire inside panel on the
door....

I am glad that you are able to mainain calm at this situation and fix it back and bring to the workshop . Probably I will be calling my hubby for rescue . Usually the workmanship is more expensive over here in my place. But you are having a good deal there .

I am glad you did not panic and that you will get it taken care of immediately. You are right, it is best to deal with local people that you know the best.

Oh no, there was no reason to panic...besides I was always able
and willing to climb over the gear shift to the other seat in
the front and go out the other door...listen I believe when all
other fails there are 4 windows on my car plue a front and back
windshield...LOL

hi bjc oh that must have been a really scary moment thinking now what do I do?I am glad you managed to get it in the grove so you could open the door.IO hope that they do not charge you a lot for the part and its good you have a mechanic who will not overcharge you to put it back on for you.,

Very reasonable costs all the way around. I know many people who would have panicked. I worried for about three seconds before I realized that you had at least one other door you could exit from. My mind at first jumped to too many scary television shows I have seen.

I pray a lot for God to keep me within his arms..I try not
to instantly go negative about situtations..It does not always
work but realizing there are some thing I can do something
about and then there are other times the situtation is much
larger than even my imagination..LOL thanks so much for your
concern...My family sometimes tell me I don't have sense enough
to be scared...LOL

a funny situation. it has happened to me once when i was sitting at the front seat of my car. but i came out of the car by asking the driver of m car to get down and then i got out through the drivers door. afterall a car has 4 doors na. but in normall situation its ok we can manage but in emergency situation where you will have to get out of the car immediately, if such a thing happens hen its disastrous. hope such a situation will not occur to you again

hope that the repair gets fixed soon. and you always service your car regularly and do check our car once in a month for any fault in it to prevent these sorts of incidents from occuring again
