how to earn stars? / myLot

I have noticed that some of the myLotters do have stars beside their username and those stars do have different colors. What does the STAR mean? And how are you going to earn that? Also, I have observed that there is something new in myLot when you make a new discussion. A dialog box will appear and will tell about the spamming and rating. Why is it? I haven't copy-pasted anything but it suddenly appeared and all the words that I have typed were all gone. Can you explain it to me?

You will get your star once your User Rating or the number in () next to username hits 100. It does not look too far know until you will discover which star you will get. Here's more about User Rating and the stars: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx

About the dialog box, another user asked the same question earlier. I'm not sure if it is a new rule here. As far as I know, we cannot use copy/paste feature until our User Rating is 500. Perhaps some part of your post was pasted which trigger the message. If you did not copy/paste anything at all, then I do not know why you would get the message.

Oh wait, my dear friend mysd just reminded me about posting from mobile phones can trigger such message as if you are trying to copy/paste while you are not...

stars beside your name are assigned by mylot on the basis of your number of discussions and responses and their quality. dialog boxes are for myloters to assess others posts as a negative, positive or abuse. on the right side of responder's name you may find a option for 'mark best response'

The stars are NOT assigned by myLot. MyLot have nothing at all to do with them. It is the ratings that OTHER USERS give to our posts that cause the star. You would be wise to read here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx

Since you are over 100 I see you now have a star. This is always a great way to base on how people see you here. As for the other, sometimes its because of a glitch here in myLot and other times it might be the settings etc. All I've got to say, is do not let it bother you. Continue to post here and have fun.

hi iamsittie read the guidelines and the FAQ's too , I think you have to have 200 points after your name but yuo can read the Guidelines and the FAQ's faster than I could type all that out and it would be much easier to read yoo as I am not a prefect typ

Seems like now you have earned a star.

And about that dialog box, it will appears every time you try to paste something. You can't copy paste until you reach the activity point of 500 (it's the number next to your username). Why? Well, rules.
