Although no one agreed with everything Margaret Thatcher did there was no need to celebrate her death with a party.I find it in very bad taste and just wrong. She was not the only one that made these decisions it was her cabinet as well.Say what you like she did bring this country back from the brink.I remember quite clearly the three day week, having the electric cut off ,sitting in the freezing cold. Our parents to scared to go to work because of the unions thugs beating them up or threatening to harm their families.I also remember the dead not being buried because the grave diggers went on strike as well. The rubbish piled up in the streets ect. That woman saved us all.The coal mines were losing money and costing the tax payers millions a week. How can something that happened 28 years ago still effect people to this extent.Surely in 28 years grown men could sort thier lives out. They have had 28 years of hateing one woman. What a waste of a life time.Like I say no one is perfect and no one gets things right all the time. I just hope some people must realise they should be responsible for their own lives and get over this. She bought us the channel tunnel.the M25 and stopped the cold war with Russia.

I think a party is way out of line. Maybe people didn't like her but she did do well on many things. Why can't people let people die in peace. I believe she did a great job on many things.

Common decency must come into it.You are right she did not get it all right. But then who does. She did her best and she should be respected for that.Goodness she got elected three times by the public no one was forced into the polling booth. It is always the loud voice that gets heard first. It does not make it right.

I agree. Maybe some day all these party people will get a wake up call. Shall we have a party for them :)

I was very young then, I heard of her bravery. She was indeed an Iron Lady and won the war for a better days ahead. I hope she rest in peace and all the good she have brought will leave a legacy to many. Not an easy world out there for a woman and yet she did it.

And sometimes the only way to reach people is to get their attention by being tough....She was a tough cookie and should be respected for what she did do.

Lets face it she went up against Arthur Scargill and all the unions.Whatever your views that takes guts. She helped woman stand up for themselves and ended the male dominated existence of most woman.Don't get me wrong I like men and respect them.Back then I certainly would not have liked it much.

Wow! I don't rmember all of this happening when Thatcher was Prime Minister. I live in the US and a pretty picture was painted of her, here. You should know! You lived through it! Then came Tony Blair after Thatcher and he was forced to leave office for the crappy job they said he did! Blair has left his own legecy, too.

It was not a good time but she ended the tyrany of the unions.Everyone has their own views depending on their experience. The country was like this long before Mrs T was elected she put an end to it.She had more guts then the previous prime ministers. She was a determind lady and good she was.As for Tony blair he did some good things as well as bad.I certainly won't be having a party when he passes away.

Yes I agree. She was a polarising figure I agree, and some of her policies were controversial, but I believe she did everything in good conscience and she was not afraid to stand up for her principles. We need more leaders like that, if all that a leader should do is listen to everyone around him then he is not a leader, unfortunately nowadays we have too many "leaders" who are actually followers. Overall she has done a lot of good for UK and the world order.

She did the best thing for the country as we were nearly broke and going down hill fast. You cannot have an industry that loses millions every week like the coal mines did.It is a shame for miners. You are right we need a couple of Mrs T. To help sort this world out.
