Hello dear Lelin, I´m pleased to read you again. I´m almost sure they are going to sell it in latinamerica or africa or any third developed country.
I can tell you that I knew about nutella 22 years ago when I made a stage at France. I loved it, but as soon as it was introduced to my country (Mexico) 7 years ago it has been a boom: a great success.
I´m almost sure they´ll sell it in the black market. Here the big jar is sold in almost 9 dls. If they sell them in 7 dls, they´ll make a fortune, they haven´t invested nothing but the freight.
It´s so sad that Nutella has to be kept as gold. I´ll buy mine! lol (joke)
Have a nice day!
Blessings Lelin... dainy

From 5.5 tons they´d fill 13414 jars, and if they sale them in 6 dlls, they´d make $80487 "greens".

You might be right resale and make a ton of money. How much is nutella sold for where you live?

Could be one of the heaviest blunders in the history of heist, for an amusing start.
It is quite a considerable amount and I am sure an enterprising idea would probably be selling it as homemade chocolate spread.
Another devious idea I can think of is being sold to some terrorist group where they will add some biological agent into it and resold into the market for consumption. Mass destruction is definitely achievable here.
I hope that these thieves be caught and the stolen chocolate recovered or I think I have to ask that we avoid eating it for a while till we get some answers. Nutella has better consider some plans to repackage their new supplies and recall old ones.

I was thinking something like that! That terrorist are involved in someway. We never no how the criminal mind works, anything is possible in this world today.

They could be selling it on E Bay. In our town we had a hard time getting Corn Huskers lotion at our Wal Mart. The department manager told us that a certain ethnic group would come in whenever a new truck came in and buy it and sell it on E Bay at a good profit. Maybe there is a place in the world that cannot get Nutella and they buy it on the internet, from the thieves.

I think that you are right gardengerty - is the best possible reason why they would steal so much at any one time

Oh this is so funny. My grandtwins love nutella! I cannot think why they would want to steal it unless they already have a market for it somewhere in the world. I have no idea what they could be using it for

They are delivering it to a home for aged squirrels who have no teeth

That is funny! I just feel there has to be another reason that we don't know about for its use. Unless like someone else said they could be selling it.

I believe the thieves in Germany stole stole merely 5.5 tons Nutella was perhaps due to business rivalry or sabotage, such is things happened is quite a mysterious and difficult for layman to comprehend, therefore, leave it to police's investigation.

I don't think so. 5.5 tons of nutella you know what you are stealing.

Wow, are they going to use it for other purposes than sandwich spread? (eh)
My kids are crazy over Nutella- for bread and uhmnn, they eat it right from the bottle.
But why thieves stole Nutella? to sell?

They thought that it might be easier to sell it. Or maybe they wanted to make a hazelnut cookie out of it and sell them eventually! Well, who knows?

What could they be using it for? Explosives? . It gives me stomach upsets but I love it.
Maybe they will sell it on eBay or something.

I don't put anything past anyone in today's world. I just can't comprehend the purpose of stealing it especially that quantity.

I don't think they could have thought it was something else at 5.5 tons. That would be a big mistake on their part. I believe they were stealing the nutella on purpose.

Was it from a truck or a building. If it was a truck they might have thought it was loaded with something else. I just hope they don't raise the price of it because of the theft.
