How to build a good relationship with tutor?

I have become a fresh graduate several days.Last Monday I visited my tutor and was asked to learn more about his works in this coming summer vacation,which means my touring plans have been destroyed by hundreds of papers.What worries me,it is said that he is a man with a bit arrogant and few words,so what should I do to communicate with him better?I'm terrible with this type of persons.

Well i can understand your situation very well and i know u must be tensed to spend time with such people but i think since he is elder to you, u should not allow him to vent his anger on you and rather u should impress him with your work and nothing else.
