How do you beat the summer heat?

It's been weeks and I've been seeing a lot of discussions pertaining to the unbearable heat in the Philippines. Now I want to ask, how do you deal with this summer heat and what are your ways of combating it? If you ask me, I drink lots of water, preferably cold ones more than 8 glasses a day, I take a bath at least twice a day, I wear comfortable clothes, open the air conditioning unit at night for better sleep and I open the windows especially in the afternoon. I also eat ice cream or anything cold because it makes me feel much better. I know it's a bit expensive especially electricity-wise but I really can't stand the heat and it's just giving me a headache. What about you friends? How do you beat the summer heat? :)

We should drink water always. Especially in summer we should take lots and lots of water. It helps the body from getting dehydrated. I take lot of water. I also have watermelon which is again useful in summer.

Yes, drinking water is definitely on top of the list :) We have lots of watermelon as well at home. It's a good alternative if you're not really into fruit shakes or soda since it also helps you feel refreshed.

The heat right now is unbearable its like Mr. Sun is that angry! Well lots of water for me too, preferably cold ones, at night we really have to turn the airconditioning on as well as my kids could not sleep without it too...in the morning i also just let them turn it on as the heat is very very unbearable.

I know! :) My baby can't sleep at night too that's why we always open the aircon. In the afternoon, we just stay in the living room since it's much colder there. But when we really can't stand the heat, I'll just open the aircon :)

Hi, Times like this, I always beat the summer heat the cheapest way I can. All I do is go outside to the nearest tree with the biggest shade and stay under it. Nothing beats the cool and fresh air under a tree especially if it is near a clear running stream. Cost me nothing to do it and very refreshing too.

I wish we have that too in our area :( Sadly, I can only rely on fans and aircon to make me feel refreshed.

I take a bath several times a day, I drink lots of water and like you I wear clothes that will make me at least feel much better and comfortable despite the hot weather.. here in our place I'm so lucky that many sells refreshments like halo halo, banana con yelo, mais con yelo etc., so everytime I feel uncomfortable and hot I just buy some of it to beat the summer heat..

I would love to have halo-halo though I'm quite skeptic in buying outside since I don't know where they get the ice from. So I make one instead :))

you know what i saw on the tv some people are putting ice behind their electric fans so that the air emitted by the appliance would be colder. filipinos are so creative.

Seriously? That's creative :)) Though S&R is selling an electric fan where you can out an ice on it to make the air colder. My dad bought one and if you ask me, it's not very helpful since the air that it emits is still hot :))

I don't know how will I ever beat this incredibly hot-like-oven summer, but whenever I go out, I always wear white and shorts, and I eat ice cream, I always go malling just to cool myself, radiation from my laptop is one thing that's making me feel so hot, but I can't put it out for long because of the small works I'm doing. I just hope this would be over soon. =)

That is the perfect dress up :) I often wear white too and as much as possible, I avoid dark colored tops. And yes, my laptop is radiating too much heat as well but I do need it for work so I just place it in a laptop cooler :) I also hope it will be over soon :)

You know what? I just won the battle between of and the heat of summer. I'm currently sitting outside and the small tree gave me a shade and some fresh air. I'm also drinking an iced cold coffee , this gives me a lot comfort when summer strikes me . I also plugged my moms tablet on the speaker and played opm acoustics to complete my refreshing relaxation mode .

Good for you! :) I wish we have that in the area where I live. I can't even get myself up and go out because of the weather. And yes, anything ice cold does give a refreshing feeling despite the heat.
