Hey everybody, For some reason, the cooling fan in the bottom of my laptop keeps coming on. I don't know why as I'm not running numerous program's at once. I have checked for virus and the like but nothing has come up. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hey, first off, if it is on a fabric surface, that could cause it to heat up. If that's not it, it could just be one higher demanding program that you are running. Otherwise, it could be just an old laptop? If none of these are it, then it may be a virus using up your RAM. First get RKill to stop the virus' process. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/ (don't worry, it is a safe, trusted program.) The reason you want to use this, is due to virus' trying to shut down your virus scanning program. After opening RKill, you'll be able to install Malwarebytes properly. It is one of the better virus scanners out there, and is free. http://www.malwarebytes.org/ just choose free download, install it, and run a full scan. Even if it isn't a virus making your fan go on, these are still useful programs to have :) So if it isn't a virus, it could still be a malfunctioning fan or possibly that dust is clogging the airway from the fan. Good luck and let me know.
