As I was browsing through Yahoo Philippines, I saw a link about island getaways in the country. I opened the link and found out that despite the country's 7,107 islands, I haven't even been to half of them. I've been living in the metro all my life and whenever I go out of town or plan a vacation, I usually go to the popular beaches like Batangas or Boracay. After looking at the pictures, I realized how foreign I am in my country. I vow to travel around the country and hopefully, be able to see for myself and experience the many magnificent beaches around :)

Even I have a lot of things to see and discover here in our country. When I was younger I was limited to the near resorts in Bulacan and Laguna springs... amd then there are the Batangas Beaches... I have been to a few sites and places... Here in our country, Batangas in the south, Bataan and Subic and Zambales in the northern area and Pagudpod in Ilocos... I have been there a gew times... and it was worth the time amd travel going in there.... Bit nothing beats the Boracay islands and its powdery white sand!!! I have been to Palawan and the white islands and its beautiful there too. Then we went to Camiguin island last year and its a good place but rather small secluded beach that hides during high tide. Oh such a romantic place and there are many more undiscovered places. This year I haven't been to any other places but we pln yo visit sorsogon. Its great traveling and I know I will enjoy it each time here. :) You really have to start planning as there are a lot of places we haven't seen. :) Cebu, Bohol, Siargao, Baler, Davao, Zamboaga among others.

Hi chiyosan! If you are planning to visit Sorsogon, you shouldn't forget to visit The whaleshark capital of the world, Donsol. Hope you like it there.

I have been limited to Batangas, Bataan, Subic and Zambales too. I'm not really a fan of Pagudpud though I love Ilocos, particularly Vigan :) And yes, I do have to start planning since there are so many places yet to be discovered. I even saw on the Internet a magnificent beach in Saranggani that looks much better than Boracay! I wish to start traveling soon. Maybe when my baby is big enough since I don't want the hassle of bringing all the bottles and sterilizers and all that baby stuff :)

Indeed my friend there are lots of beautiful beaches here in the Philippines. There are beaches that are yet to be tapped for its beauty but only know to the people of that barrio. In our town alone, we lots of beautiful beaches. You name it, white or black sand. And i bet you the water is clean and very nice to swim. In some resorts you have a choice of a swimming pool or the beach.

Ah yes. I have an aunt who lives there and every summer, we make it a point to visit her. During our stay, we usually go "beach hopping" and I remember going to this really nice virgin beach and no one's there but us. It was really beautiful :) I was supposed to go to Caramoan last summer but due to parenting reasons, we didn't push through with our trip.

If traveling all over the Philippines is cheap enough then maybe I have already seen almost all of the 7,107 islands of our beloved country. I live in the province up north and I myself is foreign to my province. I have heard so many exotic places near my hometown but can avail to see them because of lack of financing. Travelling requires a great deal of funds and resources that is why not all Filipinos can afford to visit other provinces or exotic places in the country. However, if given the chance I would start first by visiting all known tourist spots i my province, then afterwards go around the entire Philippine archipelago.

Hi, How about buying a well-equipped boat, complete with navigation system and the amenities of home like bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, TV, computer and everything. I would gladly set sail from the north to the south, seeing all the beautiful scenery, catching and selling fish on the way and having a really good time especially this summer months. That would be a great way to spend the chance you'll get.

That's the thing actually. Travelling around the Philippines can be expensive and at times, it's more costly than going abroad. If only resorts can provide a much cheaper rate for the Filipinos and not charge us in dollars, then I think it's much better. Although I still prefer going around the Philippines since I'm a huge fan of the beach :) And I do hope I'll be able to do that in time :)
