april 10 is here... and the whole world is watching

the north korean leader issued issued a statement that after April 10, they won't be able to guarantee the safety of the diplomats and other foreigners in their country. the alert levels have been raised and the whole world is watching the next moves of north korea. although i don't let this affect my daily routine, i must admit that i'm ANXIOUS. if north korea makes an offensive move (not just threats), war will break out in the asia pacific region and my family and friends are there.

I don't think there will be a war. This is just nuisance tactic. If they declare war on south korea. I don't think they can win on it. If they are on their own only. And also, April 10 was just yesterday, and nothing happens.. SO just chill my friend and pray for peace.

It is a little curious...and nervous waiting...but...I wouldn't be surprised if this guy waits till the next day if he is going to do anything...just so he can have "his day" instead of daddy's day and to just get the effect of surprise..the world is expecting it to happen on the 10th and when it doesn't...all will relax and forget about it...and then he goes and hits the button the 11th...

If N.Korea is that smart, they know it is not smart to start war at this time especially with them having nuclear weapons.they will know if there is one country that will be totally destroyed it would be theirs. I really hope their leader is not much of an idiot..and will be smarter to end this.

Indeed the world will be watching what would be North Korea next move. Like you said, a war will break out in the region. And when it does, I think it will be World War with the number of countries taking sides of the warring countries.

the only countries that are bound to take sides with north korea are china and russia. china has so much at stake so i don't think it's going to lend military support. it can be relied only with diplomatic assistance. i don't know about russia.

It must be stressful knowing your friends and family are in that area. North Korea sounds like it's just a hot head country needing someone to fight. They should just be peaceful ! It's a much better lifestyle

i was watching tv last night and they conducted interviews of people who live near the border of north korea and china. one lady said, "the US and north korea have had disputes in the past and the US always conducts military exercises in the area. if someone keeps shouting at door, even if that person doesn't hurt you, you would react." this is one perspective that people who live outside of that area do not realise.

That is a worrying news to many. If really happens, we also can't do much. Just wait, pray and see as a bystander. We in Malaysia will be having our general election on 5th of May 2013. Many people advised us to keep some food and riots might take place. Why there is no peace in this world. Why can't everybody think and do things that will bring peace instead of havoc.

most world leaders say they want peace but sometimes their actions and decisions contradict their words. war is a business. it means money and power, lots of power.

May be its too much optimism but i think there wont be a war, that just my opinion though. In this world of Globalization, interests of every country are connected with others.North Korea is dependent on China, i don't think China will give backing to some nuclear war plan.So how will North Korea afford this war is the question.

i hope you're right. i'm just afraid that the north korean president would be afraid to lose face and he'll do something crazy.

I think they are just bluffing. If they make threats like that, they may just be testing what response they may observe.

i hope he is bluffing. my fears are based on my knowledge of the asian culture. i'm afraid that mr. kim would not want to lose face and in doing so he will take the whole of the asia pacific region down with him.

Nobody wants a war in Asia not even China who is friendly to North Korea. What we should prepare for is the fallout in the event of a war like what Miriam Santiago, an international judge has said in an interview. North Korea must respect the neutrality of countries who have no involvement in this fracas. What assuages my anxiety are the preparations being made by both Japan and US in intercepting whatever missiles will be deployed by North Korea. It will be difficult for countries who might be caught in the crossfires of modern warfare, one which none of us have ever experienced in our lives.

only the north korean president wants war, or so he says. however, if he pushes thru with his threats, it'll be over in less than an hour. i sincerely hope he doesn't have the guts. if we survive, it'll be harder to us. we know what happened in hiroshima.

I'd relax a little If I was you, you're not doing your health any good by worrying about something that will happen or not no matter how much you work yourselfup. The whole world is hopeing that war doesn't break out because it could very easily escalate into the end of the world as we know it. The North Koreans must know this and that's why I personnally aren't too worried. I'm not sure what their game is, but I'm sure they'll stop short of actually starting a war. But if they do start firing missiles as they have threatened, then there's again no point in worrying because there will be nothing left to worry about.

a war in Asia is highly unwanted, especially by their largest ally China, I doubt NK is dumb enough to start a war in the pacific as they would lose just about everything. think about it, if they start a war they would be them vs the world

only north korea wants war, i know this. and you're right, one false move would cost the lives of millions of people, not only in korea but in the asia pacific. nuclear weapons are dangerous.

Good to hear people are also concerned with international social issues. I, too, am feeling anxious with whatever may happen and may affect my country. The first news I heard is that Hawaii is one of NoKor's (short for North Korea) target to bomb. That worried me a lot because my grandmother lives there. She'll be coming in the Philippines only in November so my mother is really really worried about this "war". I hope NoKor can calm themselves for doing such activities that affects a lot of innocent countries, innocent lives.

it's not only hawaii, joizee. it's the whole of the asia pacific, including the philippines. if north korea attacks, this whole area will suffer. according to huffington post (04-04-13), the US sent F/A 18 warplanes to the philippines too.

Why you don'y ask your family and friends to leave North Korea? North Korea still continue to say that they are going to make wars. But I think North Korea won't continue their plan to attack South Korea or countries that have US Military Bases.

i have no family and friends in north korea. i do have a cousin in the south. i meant the asia pacific region. if north korea does somthing drastic, the whole of the asia pacific region will be affected.

I don't think Asia Pacific will affected in that situation. Even North Korea has high military capability, they are very small unit compare to the combination of Asia pacific military power and there advance allied countries. I had red an article that even china is not happy on what North Korea's taking actions about this situation. So where does North Korea depend's on if ever they conquered by different nations.
