But I looked and I can't seem to find the answer any where. What are the stars for? I didn't have one last week but I now have a star with a seven in it.

Actually i was just wondering about the same thing yesterday. I had (99) posts and no start. So i made a few posts and went to sleep. Woke up and had a star next to my name. Basically when you reach (100) posts it shows all the + , - , that you got since you began posting at myLot. :)

Once you reach over 100 you earn a star here. With 1 being the lowest, and 10 being the highest. It is reputation more than anything else and based on quality of your responses and the discussions that you start as well as how others here perceive you by the posts you post back and discussions you start. It is a good thing here, and a way just to keep us all. Informed.

Ok, thanks so much for explaining. It makes sense now and also explains more for me about the plus and minus signs.
