Dear friends Mylotters. Yesterday I came across a discussion on rainbows. These rainbows however, were somewhat special, since they were made of cloth of clothes hanging from a rope, all of different color. The person to whom I have commented on his threads, I said that last year, in the month of June, during a pilgrimage to Lourdes, I came across a rainbow particular, that a rainbow twin! Perhaps from the photograph that you, dear readers, you can see, it makes little the idea, but I can assure you that the rainbows that I photographed, are two, either at the same time. The rainbow is a strange phenomenon, rare and always has its own charm. Therefore deserves to be photographed.

According to weather forecasters, double rainbows phenomenon happens when sunlight strikes another droplet that reflects the second rainbow. That's why the other rainbow has a reverse pattern (VIBGYOR instead of ROYGVIB). But hey, you're lucky to have seen it, I for one haven't seen one. Keep on photographing and sharing!

I've often seen rainbows here in the Philippines. I haven't seen one for the whole 6 months that i was in Bangkok. It's because it rarely rains there at all.

I had the fortune to see 2 rainbows too, many years ago when I was in New Zealand for a holiday. It was just after a light rain and I guess the clean air in New Zealand helped to create 2 clear rainbows. It has been over 10 years and though I did not photograph it I still remember it, it was such a wonderful experience.

The second rainbow is very faint, but definately there, well captured. Here in the UK, rainbows are not that unusual but double ones are a lot less common. I've seen a few through my life, but I'd by no means count it as a common sight. I suppose we get quite a few rainbows here because it's a wet climate that is always changing and so it's by no means uncommon for it to be raining while the sun's out. But well done on the photo, a great capture.

Well, you have to keep in mind that the pictures I took with a simple smartfone from the camera to less than 3 MPS. If I had a best equipment, the quality would be much more noticeable. Patience!

You are really lucky to see something like that with your own eyes. I've seen many rainbows when I was little but now I hardly go out or look up in the sky in the rainy season. I've never seen twin rainbows before. Thanks for sharing :)

I checked the photo and I saw two rainbows. The one is fading- it's like a shadow of the brighter one. I haven't seen this in real- but the picture tells there is really twin rainbow in there.
