Has anyone else done online surveys where they promise you money for a short survey and then been highly disappointed with the result.
I've done a few where I've ticked that I'm not interested in certain products but have still recieved phone calls later that day from those people touting for my custom.
And in others, I've complted 20 or more questions over 5 or 10 minutes of time only to be told I don't quailify for the survey. But I've already done the survey over the last 5 minutes !!
Is this a widespread problem or am I just being unlucky?

I often feel like giving a false number or something, but knowing my luck lately it would turn out to be genuine and they wouldn't be able to reach me with a prize afterwards :)

That's their "demographic check". I hate it. I figure they should (a) already know from my site profile and (b) be honest and stop getting as much info as they can for free.
If I ever run into one that has more than a few basic questions, I just drop it: the survey itself - even if I qualified - will undoubtedly be poorly paid, since they screwing people for as much as possible.

I agree, but there's a very fine line between what's going to turn out good and what's a waste of time. And as most of them are very poorly paid, it's a question of hoping that you get enough of them done to make a little money.

I was a member of a couple of survey sites in the past. Many of those sites don't accept members from my country so I wasn't able to sign up. After some time I found two sites that accepted people from my country and I joined both of them. The first site was a complete waste of time. I often visited the site but every time I visited the site there were no surveys. Eventually I got tired of waiting for the surveys and I left the site. On the other site I did get new surveys sometimes, but 90% of the time I didn't qualify for the surveys, and it was a very, very slow way to earn. I earned $5 on that site and I did get paid, but it took me 6 months to earn 5 dollars. When I got finally got paid I left the site.

You're lucky. Most of them are fine, but there's an increasing number that are just after your details. Be careful if they reach your country.

The same thing has happened to me so i'm totally over it. I'm sure there has to be some legit sources out there somewhere though.

It's getting far too common, you try to make a little extra and have your time wasted. Never mind, ther will be another along soon :)
