Actually I did a mistake. Now I'm laughing. I was searching interesting posts in mylot and found some in right corner. I replied in one of post but after clicking submit button I noticed that it is very old post created 5 years ago. Ha ha :) Its funny isn't it. Actually I'm half awake so it happened. Now only one eye is opened at this time. Good Night!

It doesn't matter when a discussion was posted, you are still paid for a good quality response to it and you could be reviving the discussion so that others respond too because when a discussion is responded to, it appears on the 'recent discussions' page.

owlwings is absolutely right!! The reason we have so many duplicate topics is people don't do the research and post on a discussion already made- whether it was 5 years ago or 7 years ago- you still get paid. I just responded to a discussion that was 7 years old today because I was researching on mylot about facebook groups about mylot. The only post that was relevant was 7 years old and the person who posted it only had a (47) by their name..so im sure they are not active...but I responded anyway..because I didn't want to make a whole other post about the very same topic. And it also revives the post just as owlwings stated! :) happy mylotting!

and another tip...although Owlwings answer was RIGHT ON....you could of waited a little more than 13 minutes since initially posting the topic to choose a best response :) no offense owlwings- you did deserve best response - just helping guide the misguided

key2write The same has happened to me since I don't always pay attention to the dates of posts. I think some of the old discussions need to be resurrected. BTW..that's a cool avatar!!

I suppose that in cyber-world it may seem a bit funny. Wow, this comment has not been responded to in years! Have you ever reunited with a family member or friend that you haven't seen in a long time? I have. Usually what happens is that we start talking about things that we have not talked about since the last time we got together. Thus, we are rekindling an old conversation. Offline it may also be funny but not unusual. Online discussions could and should be no different.

It is true that there is no difference in offline and online discussions. But sometimes we can differentiate it. Suppose somebody asks you something offline today but you've waited for 5 years to answer. Think what will happen ha ha. Actually this is a good way to re-activate sleeping discussions. Sometimes it is not needed to respond to an old discussion if the discussion has already got the answer.

If the discussion were to start as a question and it took a number of years to answer then, yes, that would be funny. But when I would get together with my cousin, we would talk about things that we never discuss with anyone else the whole time we're apart. That's what I had in mind. Your point is well made though. I do agree that at times it is very good to re-activate an older discussion. Especially the ones that involve a viewpoint answer. The simple yes, no question/answer discussions don't have to be revived.

Yea only in myLot we can see old posts. Most of the forum do archive old posts. Ah that's really give us some inspiration. So it also give us a message that our post will never be deleted or archived by mylot (if useful) and help all new and old members for an infinite time.

I wouldn't laugh at you, it is nothing funny about it, you can still post response to many years old discussion, provided it is still in the discussion tab. Nothing is old during mylotting, you are doing alright if you posted in a five years old topic.
• India
12 Apr 13
Yea you came to the actual point. If there is no closing tab in mylot discussion or I can say if a discussion is still open for all then there should be no restrictions to reply. he he it is simple isn't it?

I have responded to a lot of discussions that had been posted for years and I still find it interesting to come across them. Mylot would not have kept them if they were not of any relevance at all. I get surprised sometimes, coz the discussion maker is still active and give a response back.
• India

Its really cool to know that discussion maker replied back. It also defines how myLot kept a huge number of old discussions. Everything in myLot give us inspiration.

I wouldn't call it a mistake. It's not against any rules here. The worst that can happen is just that you may not get any comment back from the starter if he or she is no longer active. On the other hand, as owlwings pointed out, it might as well trigger the inactive user to comment back if he or she sees the notification for your response. There are more benefits than the disadvantages of responding to many years old discussion.

Yea I think I did a great job ha ha. I never feared here because I always follow mylot terms. It'll be great if a sleeping person wake up from my response. LOL

Oh, I think that's fine. So what if you want to revive a 5-year old discussion? It's not as if none of us can relate to some discussions of the past. We can still learn from it (and earn from it, lol!)
• India
12 Apr 13
Our actual aim should be to participate in good discussions. Replying to an old discussion is good if it helps others. Yea we still learn from any discussions which are informative in itself.

oh, please don't laugh at me,there is a same embarrassed thing happens on me.someday i do the available task on mylot for the first time.before i response a post,i must fill my name ,my email and a website.the first two items are very easy, and i fill them quickly, but the last website confuses me,what's the website?which website should i fill? why do i fill this website.i look over some websites to make clear what the hell website i must fill.after many efforts i suddenly find that there are brackets with required in them behind both and email, but nothing bihind the website.it needn't to be filled at all.i am so silly, you know.

Hi key2write, I like reading topics that I'm interested when hanging around. I would type whatever I want to share with straight away. while or after typing I then notice that it's an old discussion. It's okay of course as it doesn't matter if the discussion I participate in is new or old, as long I have fun doing so. What's more it will be paid as well. It's great that most of the old discussion writers would comment back soon Happy posting

hi key2write actually you still get paid for you response on an old post and to some of them are more interesting than some of the new ones, so it's sort of nice to drop in on some of our old posts as they all count for making money as well ss being quite interesting too. I think some of them are better than a lot of the newest as they have had more time spent on them too Now do g et some sleep yawnn,.[em]

Yea that is true. In replying to an old discussion only helps others. Also we gain some extra bucks. It is good to complete an unsolved discussion with good reply. Now I've no doubt that we can respond to an old discussion. I was in a hurry to reply because I saw that it is a good topic. I already mentioned I was half awake at that time. he he

I have also responded to posts that are from years back and I will say that some of them are really great posts, it is such a shame that the people who started them have left the site. Some people if they are still on mylot will also still respond to your response, or another person will.

Its okay if somebody left myLot after starting a discussion. But those topics or replies will really help others. Have a good day!

Hi ARIES1973, Most of the time I read old discussions with good replies. Yea its okay to share our thoughts in any discussions. Actually I don't want to repeat if somebody had already replied with good answer. Good day!

I've done this a couple of times actually and at first I figured well... no one is probably going to reply to this since the thread is so old, but I posted my response any ways because you never know... people might find what you have to say interesting. Plus when you respond to old posts you still get paid as long as they are good responses. You might as well respond if you have something to say right? :)

That's really cool. I did same as you mentioned above. I replied because I want to help with an answer. I know sometimes people find out old discussions to solve problems. It would be great if any of our answer helps anybody.
