So my 4 year old and 2 year old were playing upstairs. Normally they are awesome playing up there, they either play with their toys or they sit on my bed and watch tv. Well I heard a weird noise like something being ripped. So I went up to check. Well they had tape running in and out of all three bedrooms stuck to various things around the rooms, one of them had snuck their pop from their happy meal upstairs and that is all over my stairs. My husband left a light that goes in the fish tank sitting on the dresser and one of them plugged it in. OMG. Then my two year old was climbing my book shelf. The only thing I noticed is they tried to clean up the mess, they took the broom and the dust pan out of the closet and there was baby wipes sitting in the puddle of pepsi they tried to clean up. Wow so I am off to clean up, and the kids are banned from going upstairs to play by themselves for a couple of days. More work for mommy it never ends. Guess I'll go put supper in the oven and then go mop the stairs. :(

That would not be a fun sight to see! So far, nothing like this has happened to me, but I only have one floor so my kid can't really do a lot without walking right by me.

our dog was the one to really make a mess as for some reason he loved toilet paper rolls so one day it was super quiet then I heard loud giggling and the dog's woof woof so I knew that he was up to some mischief. He had taken the end of the roll in his mouth and wound around the bed in the bedroom then the bathroom and I caught him in the hall but both kids really helped me to pick up the paper and tuck it away. From then on the door to the bathroom was kept shut at all times.

I found out where my daughter got the idea for the tape running from room to room. She was watching Max and Ruby and Max did the same thing with yarn. LOL Oh well she keeps apologizing for it, and they now know that they are ONLY aloud to touch their toys. Nothing of mommy's or daddy's.

Oh my God, i remember my child years, my mom told stories about me, she said i am very very naughty, i make my younger brother and my younger sister cry, my mom says, we love to play to all together, but after a couple of minutes you cries, that's because of me, my mom said when i was a child i am so sensitive and easy get irritated. All i can remember is my mother always scolding me and i'm the eldest son. Now a days when i see my nephews and nieces playing all together and after a couple of minutes, here it goes shouting and yelling, i can't my help than to smile, parts of the childhood days. In your case, yes its hard but we can't do nothing but understand them, and do some restrictions to avoid danger, just need more patience on these. We only experience childhood once in our life.

Sounds just like my kids too. They get along so well and then the next minute someone is crying and they are fighting over a toy. Then the next they are getting along again. I guess it's all part of growing up.

Yeah you only say just wow with their things done :). That shows their really smart on their age with bright ideas and instinct how to do well at end. They were just a kid and that's very ordinary for them to be more naughty hahaha! I can't stop myself laughing my friend! LoL! Have a very happy days to all of you!

Maybe I`m too much from the old school, but I would either ban the kids from playing by themselves in the second floor for keeps or I`d turn it into a safer environment. I`m glag that you only had a mess to clean: the story could have ended in an accident.

I know I will definitely be going through the upstairs tomorrow to make sure there is nothing else they can get into. I'm so glad it didn't end in an accident, and they will be banned from upstairs for awhile. They were told that tonight.

Wow is an excellent statement for this situation! Sounds like you have your hands full today. Its cute they tried to clean up, at least but it's still stressful to deal with such a crazy mess. Hope you get everything clean up and hopefully a moments rest.

You really should have seen the tape everywhere. I've a hadn't walked through sticky pop on the stairs I might of actually laughed about it.

oh o h Hugsy I would never have p ut my two alone upstairs as they were just 11 months apart and my son was a mischevos little boy, His iser was more docile bu t when I heard her yell:" No NM wobbie lisa do not want hair cut no no"": i was running into their room. Luckily Robbie had got the scissors tangled in her hair so he had not yet cut any hair. When I told him he must not ever cut her hair he told me: "Mommy her hairs really long. You cut my hair when it gets long like that." I explained to him n that girls wear their hair longer than boys do.

That reminds me when my girls were about that age, they had strung audio cassette string all over their bed room and said "Happy birthday!". Kids are funny and also scary with the trouble they get into.

It is impossible to stay mad at them for long. It's just too bad the baby had to cry while I mopped up the mess. Poor little teething baby. Oh well we all had a good snuggle on the couch while we watched Wreck it Ralph

OMG how crazy is that. That is alot to clean and I'm so sorry they did that. Its like you need to have four eyes on them all the time. My daughter was so upset the other day with her girls. She has a 7 and a 1 year old. She had to go to the bathroom so she told her oldest daughter to keep an eye on her sister. She said "Ok mom" well low and behold the little one got into the vaseline and had it all over her face, hair and body also all over the 500 or 600 thread count sheets. Her oldest daughter was busy watching the TV and not really watching her sister. Then when she turns to see what she was doing she says "Oh mommy wait till you see what the baby did." Of course my daughter was so upset. Can you imagine what its like to clean vaseline off of the baby and the sheets. I don't know if she was able to save the sheets or not.

oh no that is evil. I had to clean diaper rash cream off EVERYTHING before. I can only imagine Vaseline would be so much worse.

Hi, Wow just wow! Your kids are mischievous but they realized their mistake and tried to clean all the mess they made. They tried to help you but they are just small kids. You have punished them is a right thing. Children should be punished for their mistake. But it should not be hard. Thus children learn from their mistakes how to behave in life.

Yes mommy needs a break, a nice relaxing bubble bath with a book!! Sound wonderful, though probably not going to happen tonight since daddy works late. And I have a teething baby on top of my two mischievous little ones. LOL Oh well I love them and they were trying to help me clean up. They both apologised several times and there were lots of hugs after I scrubbed the stairs and calmed down

kids will be kids. Our day never ends... Dads just dont understand that being a stay at home mom is a full time job except we dont get paid for it. They go work all day and then come home and say they worked all day so they dont have to do anything.
