I've read on monster everything about our behavior. "Watch what you put on your credit cards, your HR department may gossip about those cases of booze your husband bought for the anual Christmas party for the company he owns?! Don't eat at McDonald's "hazardous to your health. Don't drink, smoke, etc, etc. All this can get you fired! I'm so happy I work for myself! How much of this do you believe even if it does come from Monster?

I think it's alot of hooey! I haven't checked out Monster but what you put up here seems to me to be alot of crap. You can probably eat where you want and no one cares and if they do then they aren't worth being around! it is nice to work for yourself...but it also takes alot of self discipline!

Yes, working for yourself does require a lot of self discipline! It's been a year now and I still haven't lost that "honeymoon" phase! I really thought Monster was a reputable site for years until they started writing crap! Now I don't have to listen to others opinion of my work except my customers! I love it so much even the stuff I don't enjoy so much is much easier to do because it the means to an end-customer satisfaction $$$$$.

Hi inop- Monster is a job site. It is a premier site for finding a job while Linkedin provides anyone, from job seekers to business owners to stay professionally connected throughout the course of their carriers. I opened my Monster account when job "shopping" and now I use it for my business. It also includes many articles about the job and career search and how to keep it. I do at times find Monster posting articles from supposed professionals about the workplace, etc. I find some of these articles illogical at times and think people are mislead instead. I brought this subject up because I've been finding too many articles in Monster that just don't make sense! I recommend joining both Monster and Linkedin. Linkedin is a great place to stay connected with past coworkers and other important people in your field. What a great place to have at your fingertips the day you may need a number of references!
