i was not here last 2 days,
but i am getting online again for a long time in this week.why?
because my friends or supportive people gave me many (+) and my ratings are getting better,so it motivate me to come here again.
after i report the person to the mylot,i am getting better here,
i totally understood that some people can give you many(-)without any reason or just because of jealousy.
but why so serious?
even we give many (+) to the people we dont loose anything here right
we can be supportive and friendly here,i love and i know many people here love mylot
so why dont we make here peaceful place,we can do it
i dont say we must give (+) to everybody, but we should give (+) to the people who deserves it.
i always give many (+) without being tired and with supportive feeling,
because i think if i support people, they support me back
do i think wrong? give me opinions about this please.

I did not know there was a rating system here that we voted on, I thought it was something that mylot did.

. That is so nice of you scabupro to be encouraging people to be aware of the rating system. Pegasus72 you are an active member then. Now that you know, rate us.

. I am so sorry they did that to you. I don't know if someone gave me a negative (-) rating. I have a good heart, I always give a positive (+) rating to the deserving discussions and replies too. With the little effort or support we could make someone life better.

making someone day is a good thing to do. Lifting someone's heart is not a heavy task. So why not do it right?

Welcome back friend
Is there any way to know if some one gave you plus or minus?
If i respond to a discussion or put a comment; i always give +, so far i have never given - to any one; if the discussion does not suit my temperament, i will not respond; why give a - at all.

I think everyone should be supportive, unless there is someone just giving horrible rude responses that are uncalled for. I think from what I noticed so far everyone seems to get along fairly well here in Mylot. But I'm sure like everywhere else there will always be a few people who are only here to cause drama. I'm just happy that I haven't come across any yet. I'm really enjoying it here.

It is good to hear that we have good friends here in MyLot. So far, I notice the mylotters here are friendly and helpful . And I think we should support one another here . I guess there would be no benefits of being jealousy . Happy Mylotting!

Some people rate your responses negatively just to be spiteful because they disagree with what you say. It is really sad that some people can be so immature.

I think some people are just immature and if they see one person getting popular or having good responses they don't like it so they find fault. The only way they have of facing this is the (-). If this continues I would be thinking of taking people out of my list of friends.

But you are seeing things through a more mature mind. Looking through a immature mind you may see things differently. If everyone would look at things more positively and maturely it would be easier to get along.

When I remember, I try to give plusses to people I know have been unfairly minussed, especially those of whose views and/or lifestyles I disapprove. It's not the views themselves that should be marked, but the level of the contribution to the discussion.

If you know you are not doing anything wrong you should not get too much affected with their comments. We cannot please everyone. Just don't mind those people. Like you just said there are a lot of good people here in mylot who knows what the (+) and (-) ratings are for. As for me, I really rate posts positive if I find it interesting or helpful or I had fun conversing with the other person. However, I also don't hesitate on giving a person a (-). That's because i only do it when I see that the person has been really really rude and offensive.

Hey there, scuba.
(your avatar still reminds me of ponyo)
There were cases before stating that they have been abused by that - button given to them by members who hated them. I think mylot would notice this and would take care of the problem as soon as they can.
as for me, I am only reminded of the + button if the respond really moved me or very informative(whether it disagrees or agrees with my point) I don't give + to everyone. It will always show that those with high ratings and stay atop truly deserve it.
It doesn't mean we have to s-ck up to everyone for them to give us +, but we build our integrity and reputation here as a member who give reasonable, helpful, thought-provoking discussions or responses.

Hi ! A friend or not in Mylot if she deserves a positive rating i always give it but i don't give negative rating unless the post is somewhat very dirty and does n't deserved to be posted in Mylot from my own point of view. Maybe some give negative rating , i don't know what they will be getting from it ! Purely jealousy indeed , a crab mentality. So sad for this kind of people.

I do not mind giving out (+) to everyone as well. :D its been really great of a feeling when you are able to give out what you want others to give you as well and here in mylot a positive rating is a good one too. i remember when i have created a discussion, those who responded to me, those who took the time, i would give them plus ratings already even for the effort and that is how i showed my appreciation to them. :D

Dear scubapro, you are kind hearted person, when we give some one (+)we encourage that person to stay more active and when a person get active whole site will get active. What ever you are doing for the benefit of all and that can not be avoided. And Internet is a virtual world there should not be any kind of zealousness by seeing his/her improvement, rather asking them the secret of their growing so that we all can grow .

Hello..
Well, I think there is no meaning of '-' button here. If somebody is breaking the rule one can easily report the admin by pressing '!' button. But we have that so can't do anything.
Personally I never use that '-' button. And I really don't understand the use of that button just because of jealousy !! I always used to give '+' button when I found someone's post helpful.

Hi scruba, I have been here going on two years this fall and I have
been nothing but contented..The people here are very nice and was
and still is very supportive to me and others...I've had only on
issue here when I lost my cool because I was accused of something
that was not true and the person here was way of target for the
things she said and I just lost it...I don't even respond to anything
of her's anymore...but neither do I rate it...But to be honest I just
never remember to grade the post or responses...when I first started
I never knew what that meant so I started withour rating so I never
picked up on doing it everytime...I guess I can not be accused to
giving a bad rate because I don't rate anyone....if I see a post I
like I will respond if I don't like it I just skip it....I don't
pay attention to all these number...I just really like this forum,
now don't get me wrong, I like the cents but I just like interacting
with the knowledgeable and experienced people here....See I think the
rules and regulations are done by admin...so I am just here to mylot....
Have a wonderful weekend....

Thanks so much, I do try very hard to be honest and it really
isn't difficult..This is a forum where you can be honest and
those who give negative feedback you can just ignore them and
continue to do what you are here to do...see I realize "you can't
please all the people all the time"....my grandmother use to tell
me that all the time...
Have a good weekend...

I agree thoroughly with you. I love friendly people. And it's sure there are many friendly people in mylot. Yes, so why don't we start to give (+) to people who deserve it since we lose nothing by giving the positive reputation. I also like to be supportive and like supportive people as well.
