The WiFi connection not poor it have excellent signal. My brother use wep security for his wifi. I search in internet and set the WiFi setting. I change to static ip and enter the ip address, gateway and DNS it say connect but it don't have a internet connection it say unable to connect. Did any of you have this experience with android phone? My phone is Sony Xperia tipo with a system android 4.04.

Maybe it is really hard for your mobile device to have a better connection. have your device checked instead.

hi there, some phones did have very low capacity to receive the wifi signal. i think you shouldn't have touched the connection of the wifi. i remember my samsung corby having poor signal even if the wifi had a good signal. when i changed my phone now to galaxy s3, my once phone canot receive signal in our room, now with my galaxy phone it receives signal. so its with the wifi of the phone that was built in. maybe what you can do is to put out the wifi router where the house can receive good signal. remove it from a place you put into where there are walls that could hinder the signal.

hmm. maybe you should try asking the maker of your phone. i think they know best. but then again, the time to go to their office. hehe. but i have experienced those kind of problems before. i tried re-setting the phone. or turning it to its original setting where nothing is installed. it is more of reformatting it. have you tried it? well, if so, then i think the more you should go to the product manager or technician. thanksss

Hi! Hmmm.. I think this post has something to do with the discussion you had previously. If your brother is using WEP, then that's fine. Xperia cellphones are mostly capable of either WPA or WEP. Please do not force IP address on your cellphone. Do not do such. Do you happen to know if your brother's MAC filtering is enabled on the modem? You can see that the same thing when you tried to check if your brother's modem has WEP or WPA. Each device has a MAC address. If the MAC filter is enabled, only MAC address registered on the modem will be able to connect. if this won't help, I suggest that we go to the nearest xperia store. They would take a look on your cellphone adn repair it for you. =)

MAC address would pertain to a devices MAC address. Modems have MAC filter. If it's enabled, devices whose MAC addresses are not registered in the modem will not be able to connect to it. You will be able to see the MAC address of your device on the sticker somewhere in it. For androids or Apple you can see it on Settings, then find anything that says about this phone, about this tablet, about and you'll find the MAC address. After finding it, you need to access the modem again and find MAC filter page. It is different for various model and you'll have to find it yourself. I'm sure since we are from different countries then we have different modems. Once you're on the MAC filter page, try to add the MAC filter of your phone. If your brother is willing, you can also just switch the MAC filter off.

if that's my phone I could have thrown it, because it defeats the purpose of "user friend" usage. I don't like to encounter so many problems with it like you are having now, no connection, can't find the music downloaded and can't install video games.

I am not rich. if I am i won't be doing this mylot and other online earning jobs. I might be poorer than you because I never bought cellphone I just got my phone from a challenge if I can make it work it is mine, otherwise I won't have a decent one. I am OK with nokia 3310 model, which is good enough to make calls or send SMS. I don't have prepaid broadband to go online, I just rely on Wifi free connect, if no free connection I am totally helpless.
My point is, do you think you have bought the right one? if it's difficult when it comes to functionality?

I also love to use my smart cell phone to surf on the Internet by using the wifi either at home or in the office. It is a lot more convenient with the wifi. Mine is android system, but it works well. I hope you can find out what is wrong with your phone soon. Take care.

I don't use my phones wifi to go on the internet with it, except for when I go to my sons as I don't have service there, as he lives in a very remote area and he at a higher level there asd well, and so since T-Mobile doesn't have service there, I use my sons wifi, and it is really works great, as I have no problem whatsoever in getting a connection. All I have to do is turn on the wifi on myh phone, and it finds his wifi and alutomatically connects me, and I stay connected until I leave there and get back home. I don't like using wifi while I am at home as I have 4G and don't need it here. I am sorry to hear that you are having problems stayi9ing connected to wifi with your phone. you might need to take it in and see what be done to fix itg if possible. Take care, and have a good day,
