Cheap mobile phones.

Cell phones are a very useful modern invention. However, we must be aware that it can also be an instrument of death. Particularly the cheap China made phones. A few days ago, a person was recharging his mobile phone at home. Just at that time a call came in and he answered it with the charger still connected to the mains outlet. After a few seconds the phone exploded and the young man was thrown to the floor. His parents rushed to the room only to find him unconscious, with a weak heartbeat and burnt fingers. He was rushed to the nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. Never use the cell phone while it is hooked to the electrical outlet. If you are charging the cell phone and a call comes in, unplug it from the charger and outlet. Also the radiations from the cheap phones are much more than the safe limits; the sound coming out is too high too. In any good branded phones they are with in safe limits always. Hope you find this useful. Do you use branded cell phones or cheap Chinese stuff? Mine are Nokia and Samsung, recent is Samsung GALAXY GRAND. Please respond comment and share your tips on cell phone use. Thanks in advance. Professor Dr. Bhuwan Saraf. PhD. April 12 , 2013. Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

Hello sir, I am not using mobile phone because I can't use it. Mobile weather it is costly or cheap it is not safe we some one use it carelessly. China is another name of inferior quality product. But we India prefer cheaper product than quality product.

Hi Professor2010, certainly it's nice and safe as well to use branded mobile phones. It's sad that the price is rather costly. For safety purpose I still tend to buy branded phone. I know the price will drop when the latest model of the same series launching. I will wait until the price the old model goes down and purchase with rather lower price Of course I have to tolerate for quite some time like few months or even more than that Have a nice day and happy posting

It is so important for the users of all these electric n electronic gadget to understand the right way to use the products, make sure you read the manufacturer' manual thoroughly and apply it appropriately, don't think that every mobile phone in the market is created equal and carry the same risk to the users like the other during the abusive stage. Always try your best to buy from a reputable manufacturer if possible, Cheap doesn't always come with quality in term of product's safety and functionality. If you insist on buying every electric and electronic products on the cheap, you can't really blame anyone else for the accident except your self and the manufacturer. Just be mindful in your choice of those products in the market the next time you decide to step into an electric and electronic appliances store for your next purchases.

Hi Prof, Thanks for the information about the dangers of using certain types of mobile phones. Personally I think if one were to use a good, well known, popular and trusted phone with a good reputation that should be alright. So I always buy phones of popular and trusted makes, just to be safe. Have a safe day.

Hey, i agree with you that cell phones are definitely a very powerful modern invention but we definitley need to be very careful about it becuase it can be dangerous. We have heard about how the radioactivity in the phone is able to cause us cancer. therefore, we should try touse a earpiece whenever we are on the phone. As you mentioned, there are many issues with those cheap phones that are produced by china. I hope i wont be a victim of it.

I definitely do not want to get cancer. Right now, i'm really concerned about the radioactive waves that comes out of my phone and when i sleep i will usually turn it to flight mode. I hope that helps.

Thank you for the information. I am always guilty of using the mobile phone while it is charging. Now I know better. My phone is cheap but it isn't China phone. It is locally produced and within the safety standards. However, there is no harm in keeping safe.

I think it has something to do with how we use it, any phone if charging must not be used or else..well that would be one of the consequences.

I also both have Nokia and Samsung. I have never considered buying cheap cellphones coz I know that it is of poor quality. And it is not really a way of saving money coz in reality it would be a waste of money to buy something cheap that would only last for a few months then would let you buy another one.

My mother-in-law , father-in-law and FIL's caregiver all bought new cellphones, that are cheap, yet are trendy although not touch screens. They are locally made here MyPhone. The caregiver's has a TV so when it's brownout he watches his favorite show there. They maybe cheap, but they are of quality. They also know how to charge them well and not use them for call when it's charging . Thanks for that great information, professor. Take care.

Use cell phone only for the need,do not teach the young to handle it as an inborn appendage to their body.Buy a safe phone rather than a cheap phone.Do not entertain a false idea that every person in the household from the toddler to grandpa should possess a phone or else it will spoil our image in the society.

that was terrible! it was not the fault of the user if his cellphone exploded like that. it should be anticipated by the manufacturer first and beforehand. i guess this items should be banned totally not to be sold in the market. this is really a serious problem in the society nowadays. we are buying this stuffs it is because what we want to have a great discounts at a very affordable cost. we are not expecting of bad things that might happen in the end. look at that person. he did not want that to happen to him. poor person :( i guess, if we cannot stop the rampant selling of this kind of gadget in the market, we people should refrain ourselves to ban it at all cost. life is too precious to risk because we want to have a costless phones. we should take our and be responsible to avoid this kind of incident. gadgets purpose is to give us convenience and easy communication with our love ones and not to risk or end our life.

Yeah, I heard a lot of incidents like that. We must always ensure our health risks and prevent the use of cheap phones. I will also add another precaution. Never, answer the call when the battery is about to be emptied because millions of radiations are there.

Mine are Nokia N70 and Samsung Galaxy Mini (w/c drains so fast!). My N70 was with me for 4 years already and my only problem is neither the charger nor the headset. But the unit is still fine, even after falling down a hundred times I think. =) The Samsung is just new like late last year, given by my mother. I use it as WiFi. I am looking for cheap phones but I don't buy them because 1, I don't have money and 2, I think I don't need them. I am happy with my laptop and my 2 phones. =) Thanks for the information anyway, I hear news like that and it scares me sometimes.

One of my office mate wanted to buy my china and yet she don't know it was imitation. But I did not sell it until it was stolen. Being careful is the best thing we can do. Thanks for the tips, Bhuwan. After I read your post, I checked. My cell phonme (the cheapest I could buy) is a Samsung. I hope the brand has a warranty. Anyway, I turn it off when I charge it. And I I`m not from the cell phone age, I seldom use it. My worries lie with my eldest daughter: she is always talking to someone or other.

Thanks for your advice Prof2010. After i reading the story of you, I was so scared to use the phone with the charger still connected to the mains outlet. I will pay your attention to the future. I have done it a few times, thanks God, i still save. I also once read an article that HP when heat radiation (More precisely whe recharged) will be greater than impair human health.

I might say I am responsible CP owner. I read the manual very well, I turn off the phone whenever needed and requested, and have a weekly cleaning to prevent too much dust and virus build up. The life of my Nokia 3110 has been more than 4 years now and it is still in good condition. Well, almost. It started to have battery issues when it falls. It suddenly shuts off when pressed right after the fall. Keypad won't even work or the system won't connect if the signal is out. But I'm still loving it. By the way, I remembered the cell phone episode in Mythbusters. They were trying to prove that cell phone can cause explosion when used in gasoline stations. They did the experiment by calling the phone beside free flowing gas. Well, that's what I can remember. But I do remember the phone didn't exploded easily. And knowing Adam and Jamie and the rest of Mythbusters, they like explosions. What they did is exposed some wires from the antenna then called the phone and then it created some sparks that ignited the explosion. I can't remember whether they encourage people to use handhelds in a gasoline station or just concluded it's a "busted" theory. Proven in an experiment or not, the most important thing is to follow rules on the use of phones. They won't make sure rules in the first place if it is not for your safety. Thanks for the post Professor :)
