Taking cool drinks in summer is safe to our health or not ?....

In summer we can't escape from taking cool drinks heavily...
Children are very much interested in having them all the time...
I mostly use 7up, coco-cola, thumps up and other brands....
But i always prefer to have fruit salads and juices rather than cool drinks in summer....
Here, now onwards i want to know the merits and demerits of taking cool drinks to cool our body...
Just only for feeling, most of the people intend to take these drinks...
If there actually any benefits found, then only i can proceed to have them gradually...
Please suggest me and guide for the ways....

Cold drinks are not that harmful, except for the fact that you may catch a cold if you consume too much at the wrong time. I'm not against cold water at all. It is aereated drinks that are the real criminals.
An experiment was conducted. Teeth were dropped in a bottle full of Pepsi and Coke. Both teeth completely dissolved in 2 - 3 days! These aereated drinks rot away the bones and the enamel of the teeth. Consuming these once in 6 months or a year is fine, but frequent consumption can be quite harmful.

It's not the temperature that counts, but what the drink is. Coke, Pepsi and any other drink containing phosphoric acid is bad news at any temperature. Those whose acidity is jazzed up with added acid of any description aren't much better. Even fruit juices can be harmful if you brush your teeth within an hour of drinking them, probably more so hot than cold. But cold water or hot water or mildly acid drinks are fine (you lose heat more by what you've drunk and perspired than from the temperature at which you drank it. Furthermore, iced drinks can be a little bit of a shock, but more to the point, can inhibit you digesting your food. Teas are cooling, even if they are served you hot.

we cant resist doing that, just like me i always love drinking iced cold coffee. but we all know that too much is not good for the health. it can be only good if its natural like fresh real fruit juices and water. we really need to have lots of liquid supply on our body during summer to avoid getting dehydrated and being attacked by heat stroke.

One thing i noticed, when i drink cold water when its hot, i tend to sweat, and i need to drink a lot of cold water again to feel cool, but have try drink hot coffee or hot tea while the temperature is hot? drinking an ice cold drink may provide instant gratification, drinking something hot allegedly makes the body use more energy to reduce the temperature of the drink to body temperature. The explanation is that the hot beverage will increase your body temperature causing your body to reduce your body's base temperature, ultimately leaving you cooled off. While the logic makes sense to me for drinking hot tea or coffee, I tend to opt for an ice cold bottle of water in the summer! I know that temperature aside, physicians agree that staying hydrated is essential in hot weather and studies have shown that people who drink cold water consume more water!

The aerated drinks contain a lot of sugar and consuming cold drinks on a regular basis can increase your weight. I think that fresh fruit juices and home made summer drinks are best as they are free from preservatives, chemicals and too much sugar. Home made drinks taste far better than those market drinks.

its very important to stay hydrated in the hot weather as being hydrated can be really bad for you even fatal. Drinking water is best for you as it keeps you cool, hydrated and healthy, pop can rot your teeth and is full of sugar so i would stick to drinking water if you can.

Taking fruit salads or fruit juices or fruit drinks are okay.
But, drinks like coca-cola, thumps up, pepsi, etc are not good for your health because these contains only sugar/sweetener mixed with chemicals. These may create health problems when consumed too much and also will stain your teeth and your teeth & teeth gum will weaken with time.
SO, DRINK FRUIT DRINKS OR JUICES. THOSE ARE OKAY.

Cold drinks are good to keep you cool in summer I don't keep water in the fridge but I like a glass of water with an ice cube in it and a slice of lemon I don't like soft drinks except for orange juice and I usually squeeze my own oranges is more natural and very refreshing with ice cubes in it.

I think cold drink means all cold drinks not only carbonated drinks like coco-cola. Butter milk, fruit shakes, coconut water all are cold drink because we can't use these hot. It is better you like salads juice. Also use butter milk lemon water and all other natural fresh drink.

Coca Cola etc are very harmful for the body,i was addicted to such drinks and that resulted into many problems like getting overweight and gastric trouble.Such drinks should be avoided by everyone.Cool drinks are alright like home made fruit juices.Best wishes.

Well, It is always good to have fruit juice instead of having those cold drinks. Cold drinks are surely not going to beneficial for health in fact it work reversely. But if we take it with limitation then I don't think it can create problem. I mean we can go for them occasionally. Personally I am having tonsil problem so I can't go for them often by default. So go for them rarely.

Taking a soda once in a while is not that bad. As long as you don't take them everyday.
Instead , you can blend some fruits into shakes or just drink plain cold water. It's healthier that way.

Drinking cold drinks is not bad! Not bad at all! What's bad is drinking carbonic drinks. This drinks are pretty much acidic and is bad for the teeth and for the tummy. I won't recommend that you give this to your children. My brother used to love drinking Coke and he all his teeth are permanent at an early age of 10. That means if something happens to them and they get pulled out then he would have use dentures.

I have noticed every time i drink cold drinks during hot summer is that i get cold the day after. Another thing I noticed is that i lose my voice. Maybe if taking drinks like this in hot summer , just wait for sometime to lower your body temperature I mean not to rush up drinking even in sweat because it can cause some illness. Happy my lotting...

It is not safe to drink cola through out all season but just loved it so much for it refreshes me . It have this ingredient which made me smile after drinking . I am so into it , i know i am abusing myself. It is never good , the best is to drink juices from fruits and eating fresh fruits like Melon , Mango and banana. The best cheap way is to drink a lot lot of water . This can rehydrate our system.

These drinks you list are ridden with syrup and sugar. Even fruit juice has sugar in it. It is time you got in the habit of reading labels. Some have more sugar than others. Go to the real deal. Fix smoothies for those kids! Strawberries, kiwis, mangos, bananas, etc. Add alittle 7-up for some fizz. And coca-cola for kids should be outlawed(caffiene keeps them awake). Children will love the flavor of the smoothies and they are so easy to make.

hi there friend,
the only thing i am aware of with regard to your query, drinking a cold or cool beverages will surely refresh our body. hence, thru this way, our body absorbs fast the coolness of the beverages that we drink especially if the weather is too hot and humid. aside from that, it help revitalize our body as it tone down the heat or the high temperature level that our body feels. and, as to its safeness, i guess, better to drink cold beverages moderately as this might bring an intense reaction to our body nerves. happy summer!

Too much cold carbonated drinks are bad for our health.. it should be consumed in moderation.. cold water is not bad but be careful also because we can catch some colds if consumed a lot.. not so cold water is fine and we should always be dehydrated due to the hot weather to avoid any complications..

there is no doubt that the cool drinks can make you very comfortable when you are so hot.but i believe that any things comfor you will damage you.in summer,the cool drinks are needed but not necessary.they can cool you in a moment and the next you will feel more and more thirsty.form the long considration,i suggest you to drink some warm water or drinks not so cool.that will good for your health.
