At my home i have totally more than 6 tube lights and 4 cfl bulbs of 11 and 9 watts each...
I use a pc and iron box, a fine brand make...
We use grinder and electric shaver also...
A laptop and music set for child entertainment also we use at home...
Till now no refrigerator, but we are planning to buy a one in future...
Rarely we use air cooler in summer season...
I want to save power some how knowing some techniques...
Is there any tricks to reduce power consumption?....
Ultimately what should i do to save energy for future needs, as we are already getting many troubles to generate sufficient electric power for population?.....

Where do you put your food?
Turn things off, when my battery is fully charged on my laptop, I unplug it as power is still going to it. I have a radio on regularly, and shut off all lights where I can. I don't use air conditioner instead a fan which uses less hydro.

Turn off electrical appliances when not is use, turn it on only if necessary, use appliances that consume less in electricity, use one large light bulb instead of a few small ones. One 100-watt light bulb uses less energy and gives off more light than two 60-watt bulbs, use fluorescent light bulbs because they use 75% less energy and last longer than incandescent light bulbs.when you go away on a trip, be sure to unplug these same machines because they have stand-by functions that consume electricity even when they are turned off.

there is some highly rated led light bulbs at amazon.com that i bought recently. the led bulbs can save 95% more electricity then other bulbs. you could also unplug more electronics at night before you go to bed as keeping things plugged in even when turned off still waste some electricity. not using power or as much power during peak hours when more people use electricity can at least save money even if you its not about using electricity. you could also get an automated system that is controlled electronically to make energy consumption as efficient as possible. i personally don't do this because i see it as an inconvenience. i could go on if i wanted but i really think there is only so much anyone should expect when it comes to save energy consumption. i really feel it should also be up to companies to maximize energy efficiency just by giving customers the choice to do so. they just need to make it affordable enough and there won't be no problem for them to sell such products. right now the most efficient way to maximize power while also reducing co2 emissions is nuclear power. france powers the biggest majority of its power via nuclear power and they have enough to actually export this power across the board to italy. however, i don't think its worth the risk. solar power is actually affordable for people if they just lease the panels from installers which usually lets them save money on their utility bill rather then just getting power from their local utility. what i really like more then anything right now is the bloom box. the bloom box is more efficient then solar panels, safe, and wastes no co2 emissions. they should make the bloom box more available and affordable to everyday customers. i know large corporations such as walmart already uses the bloom box. this would be a game-changer in energy consumption if they could just make it available as well as affordable for almost everyone. the late Steve Jobs once said the customer always wins and i believe that. companies just have to make it affordable for them.

It is important to conserve energy to get lower electric bill. coz life is not that easy, we should make ways to save energy. If appliances not in use, its better to unplug them . Plugging it though not in use like computer or television still consumes energy . One thing also is better to use electric iron during daytime to avoid higher energy consumptions, coz at night, lights are on, also Tv, or even computer. As we know that electric iron consumes high energy, also computer ,aircon, washing machine, and also rice cooker. So for sure if everything not in use , better to unplug them.

The best way to save electric power is to minimize or stop ironing clothes. We have this fabric conditioner so the clothes will appear like been pressed already ,so no need to press. Ironing consumes a big amount of electric power.

You can use natural light in the morning, try opening your window instead of using your light bulbs… it does help lessen your electric bills.
In addition, LED lights are considered one of the most efficient light source that eventually helps you save up your electricity bills. LED is trusted with their longevity, compared to your traditional incandescent and fluorescent lights; LED lights have a good 100.000 hours of power usage.
LED lights also have 80% of its illumination this means, that it's more likely brighter than your traditional light bulbs.

the only way i know to reduce your electric bill is to avoid using heaters or anything like it and to always unplug appliances when not in use.avoid frequent opening of freezers and refrigirator.

use equipment that uses small wattage, typically newly manufactured equipment can save energy. An example is replace your CRT monitor with LED monitor, at least it reduces the cost of electricity. Turn off the lights when we are fast asleep.

Well, you should unplug the electronics from the outlet. Plugged electronics even while they off still consume a little amount of power. Also you should consider the electric power consumption the next you buy electronics.

Take the plug out from the power socket when not in use. It will save some electricity. Although the volume is not big, do not forget that the number keeps accumulating. Iron uses the most power to heat up so try to iron all your clothes at one go.

Me and my wife think of saving an electricity, we stop using our desktop computer, our cooler has been changed into electric fan and we don't usually switch on the lights during the day. We both use laptops after its battery charged full then it can stand for over 3 hours or more than can save a lot of electricity bill.
Anyway I think most of the electrical appliances can make the electric gets higher. So,when its not in use then switch and can also saved a bit I guess.
Happy weekend.

I was always told that if you unplug everything at night and when they are not in use it saves energy. I don't know how true it is but I guess it can't hurt anything. I should really be trying to save energy too, to see if I can get our light bill down. The only thing lately that I have really been doing is using the laptop on it's battery when ever possible. But then having all of our gadgets plugged in to recharge probably just adds up.

We use energy saving switch instead of avoiding the use of appliances. Expensive but it's proven that it really saves electricity.

There are special lights that consume little energy. But I understand that you already have them. Machines and gadgets do not consume that much if you turn them off when not in use. Some don`t turn off completly: unplug those. I don`t use an air cooler here, but it depends on the temperature and kind of climate. Where I live we have dry Summers with no more than a couple of hours at 34º C at the worst.

hi there gamyam,
your topic is also a hot issue at my end, as we are also thinking what to do to save on our electricity especially now that a price increase in consumed kilowatt per hour is about to implement. oh my, this will be an added expenses, keeping my fingers cross to have more ways to earn...

I know several ways.
Computer if you're not using it for more than one hour Turn off, it will be cheaper off than leaving on standby.
It's the same with other electronic equipment.
Full fridge and freezer uses less energy, so if the food has been depleted in the fridge and you can put a pitcher of water.
;)

We are always told for how big our family is we take up way less electric then most families with only 2 people. I don't know how we do it, I know my husband is always telling the kids to turn off their vans, lights, or radios.
