Has anyone made anything to sell?

What do you sell? And where do you sell?
I am considering selling hand crafted soaps, and perhaps candles. I am so considering a few other things-I know they have antiques and collectibles, though some of the pictures are poor or items lack full descriptions. I haven't made a purchase there, but wanted to hear others' opinions. I used to sell on eBay, but when they increased the fees and stopped permitting sellers from giving a negative rating for non payment, I stopped selling there.
Have you purchased from etsy.com? How was your experience? Have you sold anything there?

I am an online seller of handmade items. But I only sell on facebook. I have a facebook account that is dedicated to my business. It's easy to manage and also free. I don't need to worry about posting fees like on ebay and I think etsy also has a fee fro you to be able to post your items on sale. I just use facebook and instagram to sell my products.

I know people who have had fan pages on Facebook for their business, but not a dedicated page for selling. Is it quite successful then?
I haven't figured out the Instagram thing yet, but right now, I'm on my mobile only. I'll have to check it out more thoroughly.
As for payments, do you use PayPal or do you have a merchant processing account for credit cards?

good point about the fees. I enjoy selling my items via facebook and word of mouth only just to save on the fees.

I'm not expecting to make a lot of money, but perhaps just break even.
I see so many nice items, but since I first checked the site out in 2011, the prices are dropping so rapidly! Artists put a lot of themselves into their work, but I'm afraid they are shifting focus.
I have a business PayPal account; is the Etsy card reader still necessary to process cards? Thanks for sharing-guess I better do some more research!

Im not sure. I have the paypal card reader. And although it not needed because you can manually enter the credit card information. What is needed is the app on your phone.

Yes-when you're on the home page, there is a link near the top.
