You know how hard it is to go to a bank and you only make a little deposit and you have o wait for a whole day before you will be served. I've been having this issue with my bank as I do not always transact with it, but when I do, I always have to wait, wait, wait. Now I noticed that they have a machine inside that says you can make your deposit there. I got curious one day and tried to deposit using the machine and voila! It was very quick and easy! The next time however, I had a problem because I punched the wrong button. You see the buttons are confusing because they do not really point to the exact service you want to have. Luckily the lady in charge was able to help me.
Have you ever tried depositing via the machine? Do you think it is safe to do so?

hi there cutie18.
how have you been? hope all is well with you.
i've always made deposits in ATMs especially if its in my bpi accounts. i find it very convenient. the cash deposit is immediately credited to one's account. during paydays, i usually withdraw all my salary and then proceed to a nearby building where there are ATMs specifically for deposit transactions. there is no need to place the cash in an envelope. one just needs to ensure that the bills are not crumpled so the machine will accept it. so far, i've not encountered any problems abotu making deposit in ATMs.
cheers and happy mylotting!!!

hi cuite18f.
yeah, just be careful next time. one of the worst mistakes you can make is when you input the wrong value. let's say you were depositing Phop20,000 and instead pressed one '0' short and end up with just Php2,000. that will be a nightmare!
cheers!

We have been doing that all these while as the bank here do not entertain the cheque or cash deposit at the counter unless we have a huge sum of cash or with smaller denominations where the machine could not accept .
It is very convenient to use cheque or cash deposit machine as the queue is much shorter. However, the only problem I used to face is the machine often had some rejected notes. And I had to re bank in numerous times or change another notes .

I have experienced depositing cash through the ATM machine several times. I have never encountered any problems so I can assume that it is indeed safe. It is very convenient inasmuch as you can deposit even if it is not banking hours or a working day. The hitch though is the deposit will not be credited until the next day unlike if you patiently fall in line at the bank and deposit cash the traditional way. For more convenience, why don't you try online banking?

Tried that already.
I think it will still be secured as its still asking for your pin code and if the machine is within the vicinity of the bank or lets just say through the mall I can say that it's still secure, but then again its still safe to do the over the counter transactions. Its better to wait for long time rather than doing it for just a short period of time but you are having doubt on the transactions that you've made.
Online transactions or through machine can be tampered or can cause any fraudulent activities and we really don't know if this will happen to us when we do the online transactions.

yeah.. but robbers don't know how much money you have on the bank and they cannot choose who's their next prospect as long as they can see that the person is doing the online transactions through ATM, they can assume everything, they can assume you're a big catch though..:)

I used those atm machines all the time in the usa. As banks were always to busy to go inside. But here in Mx. I go inside the banks. I dont trust the machines here at all.

I tried that twice I guess, both inside the bank premises.
I think its safe, unless its within the bank's area.
But for those machines at the malls or somewhere, I dunno.,
It fast and so easy though, and I agree with you with the buttons that aren't in lined with the services they ask, I also did that mistake and no one approached me, so I had to pretend I know how to operate it myself. haha!

In our banks we can only deposit cheques and never cash, you pick up an envelope fill out the details with your bank account number, amount on cheque, and your name etc, you put the cheque in the envelope and post it in the box, it saves queuing, and it's done on the same day, you get a receipt so that you can prove you have posted it. Not sure I would be happy with the type of machine you have to use. Do you deposit cheque or cash in it?

I never tried depositing in a machine but I see people doing this thing. Glad to know that somebody is there to assist you with the transaction. Anyway, I think just like any other device, doing the same thing repeatedly, you will get used to it.
Have a nice day!

it depends on the bank.
with some bpi branches that have the BEA system where you punch the details and get a number, you can leave, eat, shop, and come back because your number is waaay back. that's why i go to the smaller bpi branches where there are lesser depositors. i even go to one that doesn't have a BEA machine because the longest line i've encountered there is 3 or 4 people.
same with bdo, i go to branches that have fewer depositors and go at non-peak times.
at unionbank you can make fund transfers at the atm machine. i did this when i had to pay someone who also had an eon debit card. i just punched in her account number and the amount to be deducted from my account. no teller, no cash. i could have done it online, but i'm still scared of security breaches.
